- A continuously variable transmission is paired with an Electronic All-Wheel Drive System to offer the utmost traction in slick situations.
- It comes standard with Falken WILEPEAK AT tires and flow-formed bronze-colored wheels with greater strength.

The new and improved Orlando Toyota Supra has been a fan favorite since day one, offering an exceptional sports car with exciting performance capabilities and a sleek, modern look. However, the one category that some found it lacking in was the transmission – specifically, they wanted a manual transmission, and the redesign was only available in an automatic. That’s all changing for the upcoming 2023 model year – the newest version of the Orlando Toyota Supra will boast an all-new manual transmission option and more. Toyota of Orlando has details!

Here’s what we know so far about the 2023 Toyota Supra’s manual transmission
- It will be available on the Toyota Supra 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and a new A91-MT model coming out in 2023.
- It will be a six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission to accompany the 3.0L 381 horsepower engine.
- The transmission was designed, engineered, and tuned specifically for the Toyota Supra with modified housing, gear set, and driveshaft to remove anything unnecessary and reduce weight.
- A newly engineered large diameter clutch with a reinforced diaphragm spring and larger friction area results in the right conditions for high torque.
- The intelligent manual transmission is programmed with new software to prioritize the sporty performance of the car, optimizing engine torque and fine-tuning downshifts. Additionally, iTM mode can be shut off to utilize Sport Mode.
- Toyota also put a large amount of consideration into how the gear shifter should be positioned inside of the cockpit. It was set up to minimize the effort needed to both change gears and also engage the reverse gear, and ergonomics were additionally considered when it came to placement.
- Traction and braking have also been optimized with the addition of the new manual transmission; the traction control system has been tuned to achieve smoother operation as well as handle high engine torque and rear-wheel drive.
- Traction control was also tuned to ensure a balance of agility and stability when cornering.
- A new Hairpin+ function has also been added to the 2023 Toyota Supra manual transmission. It allows for more freedom and reward when you’re taking tight turns on an uphill gradient and also allows for a greater difference in the degree of wheel spin on the left-side and right-side tires.
- Anti-Roll Program has been added to both the manual and automatic models of this Orlando Toyota for 2023. This tech avoids the “snap-off” oversteer and covers any loss of grip.
- Track mode has also been tuned to allow for easy drifting with less risk of spinning out.
That’s what we know so far. We also know that the A91-MT special edition will only be available for a limited time; Toyota is only producing 500 models to bring to market. It’ll be sporting cognac leather trim on the interior as well as a 12-speaker JBL Sound System, and the exterior will showcase a red Supra badge and red Supra brake calipers.

Moonroof vs Sunroof: What’s the difference?
When you buy a new Toyota, is a moonroof or sunroof on your must-have list of features? It’s a great way to let the outside in without having to commit to a convertible. However, what’s the difference between a moon roof and a sunroof? Is there even one, or are they interchangeable ways to refer to the hole in the roof of your car? Toyota of Orlando is here to explain.

What is a sunroof?
A sunroof – believe it or not – is a panel in a car that can be slid back, tilted, or removed entirely to let the sunshine and fresh air in. The key takeaway here is that a sunroof used to be entirely opaque – you couldn’t see through it.
What is a moonroof?
A moonroof, on the other hand, is glass (i.e. not opaque) so you can see through it. Sometimes the glass is tinted to let a little less light in. Like a sunroof, a moonroof can be slid or tilted open and closed. Unlike a traditional sunroof, moonroofs are not removable and usually come with a shade if you want to keep the sun out of your car. Technically, a moonroof is considered to be a type of sunroof.
What about a panoramic roof?
Panoramic roofs are relatively new to the game in the automotive industry but they’re a cool feature. Basically, they’re two large glass panels that span the length of the roof and let light into both the front and back seats of the car. They can be fixed (not movable) or slide open and closed like moonroofs.
Should you get one on your next Orlando Toyota?
Thinking about making a moonroof or sunroof a must-have feature on your list for your next Orlando Toyota? Here are some pros and cons.
Pros:
- You can let fresh air and sunshine in when the weather is good (and the rain beating on the glass looks cool when the weather isn’t good).
- They’re safer than a soft-top convertible, which usually has a canvas roof that’s both dangerous in car accidents and also easily ripped or cut for thieves to get into the car.
- They’re a lot less work than a hard-top convertible. Many of the Toyotas at Toyota of Orlando have one-touch moonroofs that slide open with one press of a button.
Cons:
- They can clog. If you park in an area under trees, constant dripping water during the rainy season can actually clog the drainage system and make your car smell (our techs at Toyota of Orlando can flush it out for you).
- They can leak. Factory-installed sunroofs and moonroofs rarely leak, but aftermarket sunroofs can be a big problem in this department.
Still have questions or want to check out a sunroof, moonroof, or panoramic roof in person? Visit Toyota of Orlando today! We’re open seven days a week at 3575 Vineland Road and we’re just off I-4 near the Millenia Mall.
When it comes down to detailing the exterior of your car, it’s all in how you wash it. But how SHOULD you wash it? Is driving through a touchless car wash OK, or should you be buying supplies to give your car a hand car wash when it needs to be cleaned? The expert auto service techs at Toyota of Orlando are here to explain the differences between hand car washes and touchless car washes and help you decide which is best for your car.

Toyota of Orlando breaks down the different types of car washes
Let’s break down the differences between the two:
A hand car wash is just what it sounds like – you wash your Orlando Toyota by hand with special detailing tools that you can find at our parts store. You’ll use sponges, special soap, microfiber rags, etc. to get the car clean and also dry it by hand at the end to avoid water spots on the glass and paint as it dries.
A touchless car wash is also just what it sounds like – no hand washing. These are the drive-through car washes that are automatic and mechanized. You drive into one, park, and let the machine do its thing. At the end, it’ll blow air over your vehicle to push water off and hopefully dry it without water spots.
So which is right for your Toyota – a hand car wash or a touchless car wash? Here are the pros and cons of each.
Pros and cons of hand car washes and touchless car washes
Hand car wash pros: When you wash your Orlando Toyota by hand, you definitely have complete control over the situation. You get to decide which products you use, how long you take when you wash it, and whether or not you repeat steps for an extra-clean finish. You’ll also be able to pay more attention to small cracks and crevices, dried on bugs or bird poop, and the undercarriage of your car – all things that may not be covered in a touchless car wash. Plus, it’s cheaper. Your main investment will be buying the supplies upfront and then your time.
Hand car wash cons: There are a few cons. There’s always the risk of damage to your car’s paint if you hand wash it improperly – dirty sponges and rags can cause tiny scratches, the wrong products can cause damage, etc. Additionally, if you pay someone to hand wash your car, it can get pretty costly.
Touchless car wash pros: Touchless car washes are convenient, for starters. You can sit back, relax, and let the machine take care of the work in just minutes. If you don’t have time to detail your own car, they’re a godsend. They’re also gentler on the paint because you’re not scrubbing it by hand, and are usually pretty affordable, especially if you buy a package of them or a membership.
Touchless car wash cons: While touchless car washes are gentler on your car’s paint, you might also get the other side of the coin where your car isn’t quite as clean as you’d like it. Plus, sometimes the air dryer doesn’t cut it and you end up with annoying water spots on your paint.
So which is best for you? It really just depends on your time and your personal preference. A mix of both is probably best, but it’s completely up to you. And Toyota of Orlando can help! We have a touchless car wash on site that we can run your car through if you’re in a hurry, and we also have a Toyota parts store full of detailing supplies so you can hand wash your car when you want to. Visit us today – we’re just off I-4 near the Millenia Mall at 3575 Vineland Road!
The Toyota Crown is coming to the U.S. for 2023
2023 is a big year for Toyota. We have the all-new Toyota GR Corolla headed our way, as well as a completely redesigned new Toyota Sequoia, the new Toyota bz4X, multiple new hybrid options, exciting new special editions, and more. However, one more incredible car will be added to the lineup (again) – the iconic Toyota Crown. Toyota of Orlando has the details!

What you should know about the new and improved Toyota Crown
You heard right – the Toyota Crown is headed back to the U.S. this fall. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming release:
- The Toyota Crown has been an iconic choice for drivers in Japan since way back in 1955 when it was first introduced to the market. It’s always been a mainstream sedan option there, and currently acts as an “executive” car with its luxurious features and comfortable interior.
- It’s actually been in the U.S. before; back in 1958, the Toyota Crown was up for grabs stateside. The first through fourth generations were available in the U.S. until 1973 and shares the same platform as the plush Lexus GS.
- We don’t know that the Toyota Crown will still be a sedan when it arrives in the U.S. for 2023; not much has been unveiled about it yet, and people are speculating it’s going to be a sportier, coupe-like design OR have a crossover-ish like style.
- This new style will give drivers looking for something smaller than an SUV but larger than a typical sedan a solid option to drive home.
- It’s likely that it’s being brought to the U.S. to replace the Orlando Toyota Avalon, which is being retired after 2022.
- It’s also likely that the new Toyota Crown will be built on the new TNGA-K platform, offer all-wheel drive, and be available in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or electric drivetrains as Toyota continues to push its green initiative. So far, the 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid with 200-210 horsepower rumor is holding the most water.
- However, some are speculating that a 2.4L turbocharged inline-four with a six-speed automatic transmission and electric motor could be in the works, which could mean 350+ horsepower.
- It’s believed that this new Toyota will be roomier than the Toyota Avalon and be closer to Lexus-like levels of luxury and technology to give drivers a one-of-a-kind experience.
- The interior technology is rumored to be similar to that of the upcoming 2023 Toyota bz4X with an advanced infotainment system and top-of-the-line features.
It should be arriving in dealerships sometime this fall – many are speculating October 2022 – and will be fully revealed on July 15 with more details. We’ll keep you posted on exactly what it’ll have to offer when it arrives!

How to check your auto body repair work
When you get auto body repairs done on your car, are you comfortable and satisfied with the results? If you get them done at Toyota of Orlando’s body shop, you know you’re in good hands. Not only are you getting top-of-the-line auto body repairs and Genuine Toyota Parts, but you’re also getting the warranties you need to give you peace of mind. At other repair shops, however, do you have that same confidence that it’s been a job well done?
If you have your doubts, our Orlando Toyota Collision Center is here to help. You can always call us to schedule repairs, but we also had our techs put together a helpful guide on how to check auto body repairs on your own to ensure you got the results you needed.

A checklist for auto body repairs
Step #1: Get a super comprehensive explanation from the start.
Before you even begin the auto body repair process on your car, be sure that you ask the mechanic for a full, detailed explanation of what they’re about to do and why they’re going to do it. It’s a good idea to ask them to type it up and print it out for you, or to at least take notes on your own so you can refer back to them and ensure all the stated repairs are actually done at the end.
Step #2: Look closely at the paint on your car.
A sure sign that you didn’t get a quality auto body repair job is mismatched paint on your car. A high-quality repair shop will only use genuine OEM paint to repair your car so it matches the current paint perfectly. Some shops, on the other hand, cut corners and use cheaper, non-manufacturer paint to save money and time. If you see mismatched paint on your car after repairs were done, who knows what other corners were cut? This is a sign that you need to have the car inspected by someone else to ensure future issues aren’t going to arise.
Step #3: Check over the frame spec printout sheet.
Ask your auto body repair shop to give you a frame spec printout. This sheet should include a detailed listing of all the repairs done on your car while it was in the shop as well as how much the frame was adjusted during the repairs. Run through it to ensure everything listed was actually done and see how it affected the rest of the car and if you’re confused, be sure to ask for explanations. And don’t be afraid to get a second opinion on it!
Step #4: Monitor your car for a while after the repairs.
You know your car – and how it drives – better than anyone else. Pay close attention to how your Orlando Toyota is handling for a few weeks after the repairs are done to ensure nothing is amiss. Look out for strange sounds, smells, and sensations, and if you notice anything wrong, take your car back to the auto body repair shop ASAP.

What we love about the 2022 Toyota Corolla Interior
The 2022 Toyota Corolla is an icon in its own right. After all, this popular compact sedan has been on the market for literal decades – we’re talking since the 1960s – and hasn’t lost any momentum in terms of popularity and sales. We love the fuel efficiency, the sporty style, the compact maneuverability, and more, but one of the aspects of this Orlando Toyota that we’re most impressed with is the cabin itself. Take a closer look at the 2022 Toyota Corolla interior with Toyota of Orlando!

The 2022 Toyota Corolla interior has everything you need
You would think that a small car like the Orlando Toyota Corolla wouldn’t have much to offer on the interior because it’s so… well, small. Think again! Here are the highlights.
Space: The 2022 Toyota Corolla interior is roomier than you might think. It can comfortably seat five and has trunk space of 13.1 cubic feet. On top of that, the rear seats fold flat in a 60/40 split so you can create a larger cargo area if need be. It’s also got features like automatic climate control, heated front seats, ambient lighting, and optional power-adjustable seats to ensure you’re comfortable every time you get behind the driver’s seat.
Technology: This new Toyota has an extremely economical pricepoint – a starting MSRP of just $20,425, to be exact – so it’s easy to assume it wouldn’t have much to offer in terms of technology inside the cabin. Wrong again! The 2022 Toyota Corolla interior offers high-tech features like:
- Optional Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and a JBL sound system
- Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa
- Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, WiFi Connect, and Destination Assist
- Qi wireless charging for devices
- Hands-free voice command controls on the steering wheel
- The Smart Key System with a Push Button Start
- Front and rear USB 2.0 ports for charging
And more.
Style: The 2022 Toyota Corolla Interior has the same sporty, stylish, youthful vibe as the exterior. It’s ergonomically laid out, of course, but also showcases edgy features like SofTex seating, metallic interior trim with chrome accents, bronze stitching, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, premium instrumentation, and a 7″ color multi-information display.
Safety: The 2022 Toyota Corolla interior also boasts top-of-the-line safety tech that you deserve to put your mind at ease, whether you or someone you love is driving. You’ll find features in this Orlando Toyota like:
- Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 with Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- The Star Safety System with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology®
- An electric parking brake
- 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions and the LATCH system on the rear seats for car seats and boosters
- A Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
Just to name a few.

Do electric cars use oil?
So you’re thinking about taking the plunge and parking an electric car in your driveway. Congrats! Get ready to save not only on fuel costs but also on car maintenance expenses. Electric car maintenance schedules are quite different from those of gasoline-powered vehicles, and one of the most common questions we get at Toyota of Orlando is whether or not electric cars use oil. Our auto service experts at our Toyota service center are here to explain!

Do you need to schedule oil changes for your electric car?
In short, no. Electric cars do not use oil. They’re powered by a battery and an electric motor, so they don’t use many of the conventional fluids you’d see in a vehicle – there’s simply no need for them. If you recall, traditional gasoline-powered cars use oil to keep their engines cool and lubricated so all of the moving parts can do so efficiently. Electric cars don’t have an engine; thus, the lack of need for oil or oil changes.
However, you have to be careful to differentiate here – while TRUE electric cars do not require oil, cars that are hybrids or plug-in hybrids (and may sometimes be referred to as electric or electrified) DO require oil. Plug-in hybrids and hybrids are not fully electric, so while they do have electric motors, they also have engines that require oil. So for these types of electrified vehicles, you will need to schedule routine oil changes.
What DO you need to do for an electric car if you don’t need oil changes, then? Here are the basic appointments you’ll want to make sure you schedule at Toyota of Orlando on the regular:
- Battery maintenance and inspections
- Brake service (namely, replacing brake pads – there is no brake fluid)
- Transmission fluid – some electric cars still use transmission fluid so be sure to check your owner’s manual or ask one of our auto service techs
- Tire rotations and new tires
- Software checks – most software updates are sent over-the-air, but it doesn’t hurt to have everything checked out while you’re at the dealership getting your car maintenanced or repaired.
So yes, you will need SOME auto service for your electric car. Like anything, they’re not a zero-maintenance product. But the lack of a traditional engine, etc. will save you a bundle of money AND time in the long run. Not to mention, you won’t have to pay for fuel costs, saving you even more money, especially if you have a long commute or spend a lot of time behind the wheel every day.
