6 commonly asked car parts questions
Car parts can be confusing. If you’re not pretty well-versed in what goes on under the hood or really anywhere else on your vehicle, it can be a little overwhelming to try to shop for parts on your own. However, Toyota of Orlando is here to make it easier! We have a fully stocked parts shop at our dealership so you can come in and check things out in person before you buy. Not only that, we have skilled parts specialists who can help you order anything we don’t have in the store and advise you on what will work best for your car. And finally, we’ve rounded up some of the most commonly asked car parts questions to get you started on some basic auto parts knowledge. Check it out!

Common auto parts questions answered
#1: What are OEM parts?
OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer – for example, Toyota parts are OEM since Toyota manufactures them. These parts are made especially for specific makes and models.
#2: Where can I buy OEM parts?
Good news – you can buy OEM car parts right here at Toyota of Orlando! You can shop in person at our store or come meet with one of our parts specialists to order parts from Toyota online and have them shipped here.
#3: Can I use aftermarket car parts?
Aftermarket car parts are parts that are designed for your vehicle, but they’re not from the original manufacturer. Another company makes them and for the most part, you can use them on your car. However, you’ll want to check with one of our Orlando Toyota parts or service specialists to make sure the parts are compatible before you swipe that credit card. You should also check to ensure they aren’t going to void any warranties or lease agreements that you might have on the car.
#4: Where can I buy aftermarket parts?
Pretty much anywhere – lots of auto parts stores carry aftermarket parts if that’s what you’re after. Again, just make sure they’re compatible with your car before you plunk down your money.
#5: What about used parts – are those OK?
We’ll be frank with you – we don’t think it’s that great of an idea. Used car parts are just that; used. This means they’ve been through wear and tear already and the chances of them giving out on you are higher than if you were to buy new parts. They may be cheaper, but if you have to replace them sooner, it’s not really a cost-effective investment. Plus, they often don’t come with warranties on them.
#6: What do I do with my old automotive parts when I’m done with them?
You can’t just throw used parts in the trash. Your best bet is to sell them to an auto parts shop, try to recycle them appropriately, or sell them for scrap metal.

How to install your own car battery, DIY style
When it comes to DIY car care, how confident are you? We know some drivers are pretty adept at handling whatever goes on under the hood while others break out in a cold sweat even thinking about checking their oil. No matter where you stand on DIY car maintenance, it’s always good to have basic knowledge of the main aspects of your vehicle just in case you get into a car emergency.
That’s why today, we’re teaching you how to install a car battery all by your lonesome. We get it – it’s not something you may choose to do on a regular basis and that’s fine; that’s why our Orlando auto service center is here. We can perform car battery maintenance AND replace the battery when necessary while you sip coffee and watch TV in our service waiting area. However, what happens if you’re stuck without a mechanic nearby and need a replacement battery? Knowing how to drop the battery in can save you a lot of time, money, and stress.

Learn how to change your own car battery in an emergency
Before you get started, here are a few things you should do:
- Find out which type of car battery your Orlando Toyota requires. Using the wrong one can cause expensive and even irreparable damage to your vehicle, so ask our Orlando Toyota parts store to give you a hand in choosing one. You can call for assistance seven days a week!
- Check your current car battery for corrosion. Corrosion can make it difficult to detach the cables from the terminals, so you may have to clean up a little first. Usually pouring a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals or cleaning them with a baking soda and water paste will do the trick.
- Gather supplies – you’ll need the new battery, gloves, a socket wrench, and petroleum jelly. Protective eyewear doesn’t hurt, either.
Now let’s get down to it – here are the steps to take to install your new battery DIY style. Remember, if you really get stuck, contact our Orlando Toyota service center!
- First, you’ll turn your car off and pop the hood.
- Next, use your socket wrench to remove the clamps that are attached to the terminals. ALWAYS do the NEGATIVE (Black, -) FIRST, followed by the POSITIVE (Red, +) last. Pull the clamps off and set them aside.
- Pull the old battery out of its housing and set it aside. Remember, you can’t just throw a car battery in the trash – you need to dispose of it appropriately.
- Slide the new battery into place and put petroleum jelly on the clamps. Not only will this be a great conductor, it’ll also help prevent future corrosion on the cables and terminals.
- Next, you’ll need to reattach the clamps to the terminals. You’re going to do the OPPOSITE of what you did when you removed the cables. First, attach the POSITIVE (Red, +) , THEN attach the NEGATIVE (Black, -) to avoid doing damage to your car (or yourself).
- Finally, close the hood and start your car! If it starts up and runs normally, you’re all set.

How to jump start a car: Toyota of Orlando tips
Do you know how to jump-start a car?
It’s a pretty essential skill. Almost all of us have been in the tight spot where our car battery conks out, we can’t get our ride up and running, and we’re stuck waiting for a tow truck. However, if you carry jumper cables and know how to jump-start a car, you’re a lot more self-sufficient. If you get your car running again, you can bring it straight to our Orlando Toyota service center to have the battery checked and if needed, switched out, instead of sitting around for hours waiting for a tow. Knowing how to jump-start a car will make your drive time safer, easier, and a lot more time- and money-efficient. We’ve got the step-by-step instructions you need right here!

Learn how to jump-start a car, step by step
Step #1: Buy jumper cables. You don’t want to have to depend on passerby to have them when you need to jump-start a car. Keep them in your trunk at all times.
Step #2: Before you hook up the jumper cables, ensure that the car battery is actually the problem. Our Orlando Toyota service specialists recommend checking your fuel level, checking the dashboard for any warning lights, and turning on the headlights. If the headlights glow strong and bright, your issue isn’t the battery. If they’re dim, flickering, or dead, it’s time to jump-start your ride.
Step #3: Pop the hood of your car and have the person who’s giving you a jump pull up next to you and pop theirs. Make sure the cars are close enough that the jumper cables will reach both batteries and turn both cars completely off.
Step #4: Connect one of the RED cables to the POSITIVE terminal on the working battery. Attach the other RED cable to the POSITIVE terminal on the dead battery.
Step #5: Connect one of the BLACK cables to the NEGATIVE terminal on the working battery. Attach the other BLACK cable to a metal surface on the car with the dead battery. Keep this cable as far away as possible from the battery and don’t attach it to anything in the engine bay.
Step #6: Start the working car and let it run for a few minutes, leaving your car off. After a few minutes have elapsed, start your car. Then it’s safe to remove the jumper cables in the opposite order – black then red.
Step #7: Head straight to our Orlando auto service center to have things checked out. You may have just left a light on in your car, but it’s worth having your battery and its voltage checked to ensure it’s not going to die again.

My car won’t start – what now?
You know that feeling when you get behind the wheel, turn the key, and all you hear is dead silence? Or maybe just the clicking of the ignition. Whatever you hear, it’s not the growl of your engine coming to life so you can hit the road. Your car won’t start, but what’s the issue behind its lack of life? And what do you do now?
Reasons your car won’t start
There are a lot of possible reasons your car won’t start, but our Orlando auto service techs have taken the time to compile some of the most common ones. Here are a few reasons you may need to call a tow truck and bring your car in for some TLC:
- Your battery is dead. If this is the case, you’ll hear a clicking noise or silence when you turn the key depending on how dead the car battery actually is. This could also be an issue with damage to your battery cables.
- Your spark plugs aren’t up to par. If your spark plugs need to be replaced your engine may turn over, but it doesn’t have enough get-up-and-go to actually get running.
- Your starter wires are loose or damaged. You’ll hear a clicking noise in this case.
- Your ignition switch has gone bad. If this is your issue you should be able to turn on your headlights (as your battery is still working) but you can’t get your car started.
- Your engine cylinders are faulty. If this is your problem, you’ll hear a knocking noise from under the hood when you turn the key.
- You’re out of gas. Check your fuel tank indicator on the dash!

What now?
As we said, those are just a few of the reasons you may not be able to get your car up and running. There could be something else going on so it’s in your best interest to bring it to Toyota of Orlando to have it checked out. Here are a few more tips on what you should do when your car won’t start:
- Check the battery – if you can’t turn on the headlights, your battery is most likely dead. Try tightening the battery cables and give it a shot again to see if that does the trick. You can get a jump from someone using jumper cables, but be sure to come straight to our Orlando car maintenance center. One jump won’t get you too far, especially if you have to turn your car off at any point.
- Call a tow truck. If it’s not your battery, you don’t really have any other temporary solutions to get you where you need to go. Have the tow truck bring your ride in so our techs can pinpoint the problem and get you back on the road.
Need to schedule auto service for your car? Call (407) 298-0001 today. And don’t forget to check out our Toyota service specials to save big!

The 4Runner has been an iconic SUV in Toyota’s lineup for years. Now, the 2026 Toyota 4Runner is leveling up its newest generation with smarter off-roading technology and a more modern feel inside. But don’t worry, it’ll still keep the 4Runner frame that fans love! This is everything you need to know about the 2026 Toyota 4Runner.
New for the 2026 Toyota 4Runner
This year’s 4Runner is all about introducing new features. One of these features is the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM) on the Trailhunter, TRD Pro models, and select TRD Off-Road trims. It’s a popular feature on other off-roading-capable Toyotas, such as the Land Cruiser and our trucks, and for a good reason! Additionally, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the entire lineup and features numerous driver-assist systems. We’ll discuss both of these features in detail soon!

Performance and Off-Road Capability
The 2026 Toyota 4Runner really leans into its identity here! You get different drivetrain setups and a full-time four-wheel drive on certain trims, so get ready for a powerful ride! The off-road trims get an electronic locking rear differential and advanced traction control. You’ll see some serious hardware aimed for trail use (not just for the pavement), including:
- An electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high and low range on the 4WD models.
- Active Traction Control aids in keeping you moving when one or more wheels start to slip.
- Standard electronic locking rear differential on the TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter trims for equal power to both rear wheels.
- The Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism helps drivers increase suspension articulation at the push of a button.
Then there’s Toyota’s software, which helps you go off-roading as much as its hardware. Some of the 2026 Toyota 4Runner trail-focused tech highlights are:
- Multi-Terrain Select lets you tailor your traction settings for mud, sand, dirt, and other surfaces.
- Crawl Control brings a steady, preset low speed to keep you moving over rough terrain (like an off-road cruise control).
- Downhill Assist Control helps to maintain steady speed on steep or slippery descents, which is important on loose rocks or snow.

Enjoy the Rugged Style of a 2026 Toyota 4Runner
As we said before, the 2026 Toyota 4Runner keeps the squared-off profile, high stance, and aggressive bumpers of previous 4Runner models that fans love. It intentionally looks like an off-road SUV first and a family crossover second. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims go further with unique wheels, all-terrain tires, off-road-focused shocks, and distinctive exterior details that make this Toyota stand out even more.
Upgrades Around the Interior Cabin
Inside the 2026 Toyota 4Runner, you can enjoy a blend of ruggedness and comfort. The higher trims, such as the Limited and Platinum, offer heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats as well as available power-extending running boards! The TRD Off-Road Premium comes with SofTex-trimmed power seats, a heated steering wheel, and other comfort touches that keep you snug on the trail.
Some of the cabin perks you’ll enjoy on a daily basis include:
- A 14-inch multimedia touchscreen is available at the center of your dash on higher trims.
- An optional moonroof, premium audio, and upscale seat materials in comfort-focused grades.
- A balance of durable surfaces and soft-touch areas, so it feels tough but not bare-bones
- Thoughtfully placed storage access around the cabin to support adventure and family life.
- As always, all 4Runners come with their iconic powered rear window, perfect for quickly loading up the trunk or getting some fresh air.

Toyota’s Technology and Safety in the 4Runner
Toyota always keeps its new models updated with technology, and the 2026 Toyota 4Runner is no exception. You get to enjoy modern tech that’s tailored for adventure and going off the beaten path.
- Your 2026 Toyota 4Runner comes with a standard 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, or you have the option to upgrade to the available 14-inch screen.
- There’s a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster on the iFORCE MAX models that you can customize to your liking.
- Ready to play some tunes? You can blast your music over Toyota’s latest Audio Multimedia system, which includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- The higher trims feature the JBL Premium Audio system and include a portable JBL FLEX speaker that can be taken out while you’re camping, hiking, or at the beach!
- There are USB-C ports and available Qi wireless charging to keep your devices connected and ready to go.

This year’s model has some new improvements to tackle any adventure with ease, so let’s dive into what makes the 2026 Toyota Sienna the ultimate family car!
New Features on the 2026 Toyota Sienna

- Toyota has made several features standard across all 2026 Toyota Sienna models that were previously only available on higher trims.
- The basic LE trim now comes with an 8-speaker audio system, power rear doors, rear window shades, and a power tilt-slide moonroof.
- The XSE now comes standard with a new 12-speaker JBL premium audio system.
- There are new style enhancements, including a tweaked front fascia, slimmer LED headlights, and new wheel designs. These subtle changes help polish the Sienna without losing its practical edge.

A “Powered and Ready” Performance
Every 2026 Toyota Sienna is powered by Toyota’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Whether you opt for the front-wheel drive or the innovative electronic all-wheel drive, your Sienna will churn out a healthy 245 total system horsepower.

- Expect up to 36 mpg combined for the FWD models, and 35 mpg with AWD. This means fewer gas station pit stops on road trips (and more money for snacks)!
- The electronic AWD system doesn’t have a driveshaft, but instead has a dedicated electric motor to power the rear wheels as needed. This unique setup helps to optimize traction and handling in any weather conditions in Orlando.
Stylish Inside and Out
The Sienna got a boost in curb appeal with some minor new tweaks to boost your style while you drive around Orlando!

- Plush materials (or optional upgraded leather upholstery) and ambient lighting create a warm welcome into the car. The spacious horizontal dash, floating touchscreen, and hidden storage compartments keep the vibes modern and clean.
- The Sienna has second-row captain’s chairs that can slide a whopping 25 inches to adjust for legroom or cargo space. Plus, the Limited and Platinum trims offer reclining seats with pop-up ottomans, making it the perfect nap spot for anyone.
- The fold-flat third row and deep cargo well provide ample storage space for your grocery trips, after-school pickups, and weekend getaways.
- The cherry on top? You get 18 cupholders- yes, you read that right- throughout the 2026 Toyota Sienna cabin, and there’s clever cubby space near every seat.

You have the space your family needs; now you just need the entertainment! Trust us, the 2026 Toyota Sienna is loaded with the top technology your family wants, such as:

Fresh Updates for 2026
Toyota didn’t just give the 2026 Toyota RAV4 a facelift – they went in with a complete redesign! This year’s models mark a major shift in Toyota’s strategy: every trim comes with some form of hybrid power. In other words, no more gas-only options are available.
- The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid (formerly known as the RAV4 Prime) gets Toyota’s brand-new sixth-generation PHEV system. Now you’ll get up to 52 miles of electric driving range (which is a 23% increase from previous models).
- Power-wise, the PHEV now delivers 324 combined horsepower, which is 22-hp more than last year’s model.
- You can go 0-60 mph in around 5.7 seconds – perfect for merging onto any Orlando highway!

The 2026 RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Performance
This year’s RAV4 is everything you need it to be while driving around Orlando: quick, smooth, and responsive!
- The electric motor in the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid pumps out 201 lb-ft of torque while the rear motor adds another 91 lb-ft. Pair this with the 324 combined horsepower, and you’ve got a powerful SUV!
- All power gets routed through an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT), and all-wheel drive comes standard on all hybrid models.
- Fuel economy is rated at up to 41 mpg while running in hybrid mode, but you’ll see over 107 mpg when you factor in electric driving.
- Toyota has introduced the first-ever GR Sport trim, which turns up the heat with GR-tuned suspension, performance dampers, and sport tires. This trim will only be available in the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid, and it’s definitely Toyota’s most driver-focused RAV4 ever.

A Style That Stands Out
This year, the RAV4 comes in three distinct design themes, each with its own personality and look to match its driver (you!).
- Core: This style is available on our LE, XLE, and Limited trims. It’s sleek and modern without being too flashy, with a body-color grille and Toyota’s signature hammerhead front end.
- Sport: This style is aggressive, with available two-tone paint schemes, a unique grille, and a rear spoiler. It’s only available on the SE, XSE, and GR Sport trims.
- Rugged: This style is only available on the Woodland trim and is the perfect option for any outdoorsy person. There’s a split front grille, raised ride height, all-terrain tires, and sturdy roof rails.
Across all trims, the exterior styling has been further refined with crisper body lines and a more imposing stance (while keeping the RAV4’s familiar shape). The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid also comes in multiple colors, including five options that come standard with a Midnight Black Metallic roof!

Inside the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid
It’s time to climb inside the newly redesigned cabin of the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid! You’ll enjoy a five-passenger layout with generous legroom and plush comfort in each seat.
- The center console now has cupholders closer to the driver, and you get a dual-hinged center armrest with easy storage access.
- Higher trims get heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, two wireless phone charging pads, and five USB-C ports scattered throughout the cabin! The Limited trim even throws in a heated steering wheel and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink.
- The cargo area includes dedicated cutouts for a retractable shade and a household-style 120V outlet in all the PHEV models. If you need more space in your trunk for larger items, the 60/40 rear seats fold down!

Toyota Tech For All
On top of its comfort, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid comes decked out with top technology for a very modern feel.
- The standard setup includes a 10.5-inch touchscreen, while the higher trims bump it up to a 12.9-inch display. You can enjoy Toyota’s all-new Audio Multimedia system, powered by the Arene software platform.
- This system has a customizable home screen and includes featured widgets, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Toyota’s faster-than-ever voice assistant (just say “Hey Toyota”).
- A standout feature is the built-in Drive Recorder, which uses your vehicle’s exterior cameras to capture dashcam-style footage. You can choose to manually record clips or let the system automatically save footage from tripped events. No need for a bulky dashcam anymore!
- The digital gauge cluster is customizable and can display full-screen turn-by-turn directions, which is a novelty for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid.
The Best Safety Features to Depend On
Toyota is debuting its most advanced safety suite ever – Toyota Safety Sense 4.0- in the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid. This system runs on the Arene software platform, meaning it can receive over-the-air updates. Basically, you can improve your Toyota over time without needing a trip to Toyota of Orlando! Some of its top features include:
- Enhanced pre-collision detection that detects pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles with better precision.
- Front Cross-Traffic Alert is new and warns the driver when vehicles are approaching from the sides at intersections, which can be really useful in Orlando.
- Lane Change Assist now works seamlessly with the adaptive cruise control for safer highway merging.
- Proactive Driving Assist maintains a safe distance from traffic, and the Advanced Park function keeps a safe distance while automatically parallel parking.
