Like we said, Toyota did extensive track testing on the 2027 Toyota GR86. You’ll see the refinements they made through the tests in features like:

• Revised accelerator-to-torque calibration. This means a smoother throttle response for when you put the pedal to the metal.
• An improved feel when you’re downshifting between 5th and 4th gears
• A wider chamber on the shifter interlock between the 4th and 5th gears. What does that mean for you? Smoother shifting.

What About Style and the Cabin?

We’ve got a new color available on the 2027 Toyota GR86 – it’s called Thunder. It’s a solid gray finish but the hue changes based on the lighting conditions. It’s perfect for highlighting this Orlando Toyota’s sculpted lines and sports car style.

You can choose from a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission (ECT-i). Here’s the acceleration breakdown on those:

• 0–60 mph in 6.6 seconds (automatic)

Plus, every 2027 Toyota GR86 includes rear-wheel drive and Torsen® limited-slip rear differential.

The 2027 Toyota GR86 is also still one of the lightest sports cars in the Toyota lineup. The base manual weighs 2,811 pounds, and the base automatic is 2,851 pounds. It saves weight thanks to aluminum front fenders, roof panel, hood, and structural adhesives. The seats are actually a bit lighter this year, too.
