Weird traffic laws you should probably know about
When you’re hitting the highway in your Orlando Toyota, it’s important to follow the rules of the road. Not only do these rules keep you and other drivers safe, but if you break them you can end up with a hefty ticket (or worse). We’ve already shared our insight when it comes to road rules, defensive driving, and distracted driving, but today we’re getting a little bit weird… specifically, weird traffic laws.
Weird laws in Florida: What you should know about driving here
There are a lot of weird laws in the US across the board, but there are also some pretty weird laws in Florida when it comes to traffic and driving. Our Orlando Toyota specialists are here to break some of them down for you so we can be shocked together. Ready? Let’s go!
Law #1: It is specifically illegal to park in an intersection or at the edge of a curb.
To us, this one on the list of weird traffic laws seems pretty obvious — you wouldn’t park your new Highlander in the middle of an Orlando intersection. But if there’s a law about it, it’s pretty likely someone has done it before. (Side eye.)
Law #2: In Florida, you can get a ticket for driving too slowly, especially if you’re not keeping up with the flow of traffic.
We get it. It’s not good to speed, but it’s also not good to drive so far under the speed limit that you’re causing traffic pileups and putting other drivers at risk. Our golden rule is to just stick to the speed limit and you’ll be good.
Law #3: It is illegal to park on top of a grave in a cemetery.
Yup, even if you’re having a seance. Another super odd one in a series of weird traffic laws, but important, we guess?
Law #4: An elephant, goat, or alligator tied to a parking meter must pay the same price as a car.
So make sure next time you want to park your alligator downtown, you have a credit card or some spare change.

Weird traffic laws across America
Florida isn’t the only state with weird traffic laws for its drivers. Here some other weird laws in the US you should know to abide by on your next road trip.
- In Alabama, you can’t drive while you’re blindfolded. Just so you’re aware.
- In Utah, birds have the right of way on all highways.
- In Georgia, It’s illegal to spit from a car or bus, but it’s OK to spit from a truck. You got lucky, Tundra and Tacoma drivers!
- In Oklahoma, it’s illegal to read a comic book while driving.
- In Massachusetts, you cannot drive with a gorilla in your backseat.
- In Nevada, it’s illegal to ride a camel on the highway. In case you had plans for this weekend.
- In Illinois, you can’t drive a car without a steering wheel.
- In Maryland, you can get a ticket for using profanity where a passerby might hear you. Keep your road rage in check, friends.
- In California, it’s illegal to leap out of a vehicle traveling at 65 mph or faster.
- In South Carolina, it’s illegal to store garbage in vehicles.
- In Idaho, it’s illegal to ride motorcycles if you are older than 88 years old.

The 2025 Toyota Camry LE: What to Know
If you recall, the 2025 Toyota Camry is completely redesigned and all models – including the Toyota Camry LE – have a hybrid powertrain. The LE is the base model of the trim but don’t assume you’ll be missing out if you choose it. It has exceptional features, a reliable performance, and a classic but stylish design that appeals to pretty much everyone. The 2025 Toyota Camry LE has a starting MSRP of $28,400 and gets 53/50 mpg.
The 2025 Toyota Camry XLE: What to Know
What about the 2025 Toyota Camry XLE? This model is also a hybrid and it has a starting MSRP of $33,400. However, with that higher MSRP you’re going to get more features, more tech, and different design elements to choose from. This particular Orlando Toyota gets 48/47 mpg.
So how does the 2025 Toyota Camry LE vs XLE comparison look when you dive into the details? Let’s take a closer look at these two best-sellers.
Orlando Toyota Camry LE vs XLE: Your Comparison Guide
The Technology: We know that some drivers are very invested in their car’s tech while others just want enough to get them from point A to point B comfortably. Here’s how the Toyota Camry LE vs XLE comparison looks in terms of technology.
- In the LE model, you’ll get a standard rearview mirror while the XLE ups the ante with an auto-dimming rearview mirror to help deflect those headlights.
- You’ll get a bit more in terms of entertainment tech with the Camry XLE. While the LE offers an 8-inch multimedia screen for your Toyota Audio System, the XLE model has a larger 12.3-inch multimedia screen to utilize.
- You also have better sound system options in the XLE. You can go for a 9-speaker JBL audio system in this model while the LE caps out at a 6-speaker sound system that’s not JBL… it depends on what you want most out of your drive time.
- The Camry XLE also offers a 10-inch color head up display, a feature not found on the LE model.
Both models offer features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi wireless charging, Toyota Connected Services, USB-C ports, and Bluetooth wireless tech.

No matter which model you choose, you’re in good hands, but if you want extra peace of mind, you may want to opt for the XLE.

The Interiors: Everyone who gets behind the wheel of the 2025 Toyota Camry loves what they find, and that’s definitely the case in both of these models. However, the Camry LE vs XLE comparison definitely has its differences when it comes to the interior and cabin. Both seat five and offer a spacious and comfortable space to ride in, and both offer features like dual zone automatic climate control and push button start. However, here’s where these Orlando Toyotas differ.
- The Camry LE offers optional heated seats, but this cozy feature comes standard on the XLE model. Further, you can add the option of heated AND ventilated seats on the XLE models.
- The LE offers you the option of fabric or sport fabric. When you move into the XLE, on the other hand, you’ll get sleek leather and microfiber trimmed seats. The XLE model also offers a leather-trimmed steering wheel (a feature not found on the LE).
- The Camry XLE interior has white ambient lighting inside the cabin for a sophisticated touch, but you can’t get this option on the LE.
- Your digital gauge cluster in the LE model is 7 inches while the XLE model’s gauge cluster is 12.3 inches.
- The XLE offers a driver’s seat with a two-position memory function… you won’t find this on the LE base model.
It all boils down to what you want out of your interior—both of these Orlando Toyota options offer plenty of choices!
The Performance: We know that both of these Toyotas are hybrids and share characteristics like automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive options. Here are some of the other performance aspects they share for the 2025 model year:

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is headed to Toyota of Orlando, and we’ve got all the details you need before you take your test drive! Here are the six things we think you should explore before you get behind the wheel of this popular Orlando Toyota SUV. We’re Making it Simple™ for you!
What’s new on the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?
Not TOO much has changed on the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser; after all, it was just introduced to the lineup last year. Here are six things you can expect when you come to take it for a spin at Toyota of Orlando.
#1: You get the same incredible performance. 2025 brings the same turbocharged i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain to the table, which means 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft torque. You’ll have full-time four-wheel drive at your fingertips, as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new Land Cruiser gets an estimated 23 mpg combined and embraces off-road adventure with features that can take you anywhere. You’ll love:
- Electronic locking rear and center differentials
- Front stabilizer bar disconnect mechanism
- Multi-terrain select with Mud, Dirt, and Sand modes
- CRAWL Control with five speeds
- Downhill Assist Control and Vehicle Stability Control, as well as Automatic Limited-Slip Differential
There’s even a multi-terrain monitor to ensure you see where you’re going, no matter how challenging the trail.

#2: There’s a new paint color up for grabs. You’ll get seven paint colors when you shop the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser – Ice Cap, Underground Black, Wind Chill Pearl, Meteor Shower, Trail Dust, and Heritage Blue. Like last year, Heritage Blue and Trail Dust are two-tone with a Grayscape roof, but this year you can also take home Heritage Blue in a monotone paint scheme (with a matching roof).
#3: The interior is still plush but trail-ready. We love the interior of this Orlando Toyota because while it’s capable of taking you on the trails, it also looks really good doing it. The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser boasts interior features like power heated and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, and options like SofTex and leather-trimmed seats. There’s also interior LED lighting, three-zone climate control, and an available power moonroof. You can also add on options like a console cool box for drinks and snacks, and you’ll have six USB ports for charging and connectivity.
#4: The tech can take you anywhere. Just because the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser was designed for durability and rugged adventure doesn’t mean it’s lacking in tech. After all, you want to stay connected no matter how far off the beaten path you go. We love tech like an available 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a premium 14-speaker JBL Audio System. This Orlando Toyota also comes with Digital Key capability and a 2400-watt AC inverter plug in the cargo area (perfect for camping). There’s even Qi wireless charging with enhanced power output!

#5: It’ll be available in two models this year. The 2025 model year brings you two grades: 1958, and Land Cruiser. While some models offer seemingly endless model options, Toyota is keeping things simple with the Land Cruiser. Their reasoning? We’re not sure, but we think it’s because these two models encompass everything you could possibly want in an off-road icon. Not only will you be able to get your hands on the best off-roading features, but also have access to a comfortable interior and top technology.
#6: There’s a new package available. Gone is the First Edition Land Cruiser from 2024—as noted above, you can pick this Orlando Toyota up in two grades this year (not three). However, there’s a new Premium Package available. This package includes:
- Leather-trimmed heated and ventilated power front seats with lumbar support and driver memory features
- A digital rearview mirror
- A premium 14-speaker JBL audio system
- Head-Up Display
- Illuminated entry
- A center console cool box
- A power moonroof with sliding sunshade
- Two additional USB-C ports in the cargo area

It’s the holiday season, and that means everyone – and we mean everyone – is hitting the road. Whether people are scooping up Black Friday sales, visiting family and friends, or heading to holiday events, the traffic is definitely heavier than usual. This also means that the risk for accidents is up. Our Orlando Toyota dealership is here with holiday driving safety tips – check out our advice for driving on Thanksgiving day, driving on Christmas day, and tackling holiday traffic in general. Let’s go!

Driving on Thanksgiving day and Black Friday
Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the year when it comes to driving. Tons of people are on the roads to get to celebrations with friends and family, and it’s in your best interest to know how to navigate it all. Here are the busiest driving days around Thanksgiving:
- The Wednesday before. The day before Thanksgiving is the busiest day for travel, especially in the late afternoon and evening. Traffic spikes up and can cause major delays in and around Orlando.
- Thanksgiving day between 11-3 pm. This is peak time for people to head to their Thanksgiving celebrations.
- The Friday after between 12-4 pm. People returning home after the holiday + Black Friday traffic means longer travel times for you and your crew.
- The Sunday after. The day after Thanksgiving is another heavy traffic day – people who stayed with friends and family for the weekend are on their way home and the Orlando highways definitely see slowdowns.
So when should you travel? Here’s what our Toyota of Orlando experts say about optimal Thanksgiving travel times.
- Thanskgiving evening. Most people are where they need to be at this point (or already home) so the roads tend to be less crowded.
- The Friday after before 11am and after 8pm. Driving at these times may help you avoid tough Black Friday traffic.
Driving on Christmas day and after
What about Christmas – when are the best and worst times to drive, and what holiday driving safety tips should you be putting into play? Here’s what the team at Toyota of Orlando has to say about it: check out the worst days to drive around Christmas.
- The Friday + weekend before Christmas. This weekend is PEAK for Orlando traffic. People are doing last-minute shopping, driving home for the holidays, and hitting the last of the parties and events for the Christmas season.
- The weekend after Christmas. People often head home this weekend after their holiday celebrations, so traffic tends to be heavier during these days.
The best times to travel around Christmas include midweek before the holiday or after the holiday.
What about driving on Christmas day – what is the best time? If you have to hit the road on December 25, we recommend doing so before 10am or after 5pm. Most people will be at home during those time periods, so the roads should be less congested.

Holiday driving safety tips for Thanksgiving + Christmas
What can you do to stay safe on the roads during this busy travel time? Here are some of our top holiday driving safety tips for Thanksgiving weekend and beyond.
- Don’t rush. Check traffic before you leave to find your optimal route, and be late if you have to. Speeding and driving aggressively just increase your chances of getting into a car accident.
- Stay focused. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel to ensure your focus is where it needs to be – on driving and the cars around you.
- Don’t drive aggressively. Avoid tailgating, speeding, weaving, and other bad driving behaviors to lower the risk of a collision.
- Buckle up. Bad weather can make roads slippery, so make sure you and your passengers are buckled up safely.
- Prep your Orlando Toyota. If you’re taking a road trip, make sure your car is prepped and ready to go in terms of tires, oil changes, and your battery.
- Never drink and drive. Call an Uber, spend the night, have a designated driver – whatever you do, don’t drink and get behind the wheel.
And if you’re heading out of Orlando and into winter weather, be sure you’re ready for it. You need to know how to drive in snow and ice safely for when bad weather hits.

Here are our top votes for the best places to go driving around looking at Christmas lights!

Your guide to driving around looking at Christmas lights this year
Bivona Christmas Light Show: If you want to spend some time driving around looking at Christmas lights in Orlando, we recommend starting with the Bivona Christmas Light Show. These lights have been sparkling since 1983 and the owners add more lights every single year for a true extravaganza. You can visit their Facebook page for updates, and they’re conveniently located at 1601 N. Wind Court in Winter Springs.
Fye’s Crazy Christmas House: Head over to Casselberry from Winter Springs when driving around looking at Christmas Lights – you’ll see a true holiday spectacular. Fye’s Crazy Christmas House has more than 60,000 lights! You’ll also get to see a music light show, a North Pole Village, and a life-sized nativity scene. You can even hop out of the car if you’re inclined to take pictures on the large sleigh set up specifically for photo ops.
Kissimmee Light Display: Up the ante – head over to Kissimmee for the Kissimmee Light Display. This show features more than 100,000 lights that are synchronized to Disney AND Christmas songs (best of both worlds). You can check their Facebook to see which playlists are queueing up for the night!
Lake Nona Lights: There’s plenty to see when driving around looking at Christmas lights in Orlando, but you can also head over to Lake Nona to see the Lake Nona Lights while you’re out and about. 9800 Old Patina Way in Lake Nona features more than 25,000 lights, all of which are choreographed to popular holiday songs. They’re running every night starting at 6pm!
Orlando driving Christmas light tours you don’t want to miss

Dezerland Park: If you don’t feel like driving around looking at Christmas lights (we know gas costs are not the best right now), then head over to Dezerland to get all of your lights in one dose. Dezerland Park is located at 5250 International Drive in Orlando, and this year’s driving Christmas light show will definitely bring out your holiday spirit! It’s $45 per car and you’ll be able to drive through more than 1.5 million lights that are synchronized to classic holiday music. You have to reserve your one-hour window ahead of time for this Christmas light tour, so don’t before to book before you take the drive!
Daytona International Speedway: So this driving Christmas light show is technically not in Orlando, but trust us—it’s worth the drive. Magic of Lights runs now through January 4 starting at 6pm. You’ll need to buy your tickets ahead of time or at the gate, and the cost is $22 per car ahead of time and $30-35 per car at the gate. This driving Christmas light show features your favorite holiday characters and scenes brought to life with LED lights and digital animations. Like we said, it’s worth the drive!
Drive safely this holiday season with a new Toyota
Looking for something dependable to put in the driveway? Shop Toyota. Our cars are renowned worldwide for their reliability, durability, performance, and technology. But if that’s not enough for you, check this out – the Toyota Prius and Toyota Tacoma were recently awarded honors in the JD Power Dependability study, taking the lead in two different segments.
How are JD Power Dependability Awards determined?
How are the JD Power Dependability Awards winners decided? The company collects survey data from tens of thousands of car owners who are actually behind the wheel of the vehicles on a day-to-day basis and have owned the cars for three years. They ask them about their car’s dependability in the past 12 months and then craft their list of winners from the data gathered. The Toyota Prius took top honors in the compact car segment, while the Toyota Tacoma reigned supreme in the midsize truck segment (unseating the Honda Ridgeline).
However, having JD Power Dependability Awards under their belts isn’t the only perk that the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Prius have to offer their owners. Check out some quick facts on both so you can see if you’re ready to schedule your test drive at Toyota of Orlando!

This handy feature makes your drive time a lot easier and less exhausting when you hit the highway…. but do you know how to properly use it?
Some drivers are under the impression that they can just hit the cruise control button anytime and let their new Toyota do the rest. However, that’s definitely not the case. It’s a great tool to prevent leg fatigue on the highway, and it also helps you maintain a constant speed and can bump up fuel efficiency. However, there are certain times you shouldn’t be using it, and we’re listing them out for you!
You can’t use cruise control all the time in your new Toyota
- You shouldn’t use cruise control when you’re in traffic – it’s designed to be utilized on the highway. If you try to use it in your new Toyota in Orlando during traffic, you’re really just wasting your time – all the stopping and starting at traffic lights will cancel out any perks you may get from utilizing it. Additionally, it’s dangerous, as you need to be moving with the ebb and flow of traffic, which means you need to be in complete control of your car.
- You should avoid using your cruise control feature while driving in rain, snow, or fog. These adverse conditions make it hard enough to control your new Orlando Toyota as is, and taking away the element of control when it comes to speed can be extremely dangerous. Keep your foot on the pedal if you’re facing these types of weather conditions.

- If you’re tired, you should definitely not use cruise control. It’s a form of auto-pilot – you still have to steer your new Toyota, but you don’t have to think about your speed. Combine this with fatigue and you’re in danger of getting into an accident, so if you’re sleepy, definitely keep yourself in charge of your car’s speed to stay on task. In fact, it may be best to pull off the road and take a nap until you’re more awake.
- Using cruise control at night also isn’t the best idea. Nighttime means your visibility is a bit more limited, so you need that little extra bit of control to make sure you have the element of safety on your side. It’ll also keep you more awake if you’re in charge of monitoring your new Toyota’s speed.

How to Troubleshoot Your Car Tires
Your car tires are essential to your daily commute. Making sure that you have a good set of tires should be one of your top priorities when maintaining your vehicle! Without functional tires, you’ll find it hard to get to and from your destination without a bit of a struggle. Not only is not keeping up to date on your tires dangerous, it could be more expensive in the long run as well!
Toyota of Orlando wants to make sure that you have a safe time on the road. That’s why our experts have put together a list of what you should look for when checking your tires, and what to do if they need to be replaced.
Watch out for these warning signs on your car tires
Warning Sign #1: Tread wear and tear – The most common wear and tear patterns on your car tires tend to be center wear (caused by overinflation) and shoulder wear (caused by underinflation.) Make sure you keep your tires at a proper inflation so you can avoid this wear and tear from occurring.
Warning Sign #2: Bulges and blisters – When the outer surface of your tires begin to weaken, bulges and blisters can appear. These could signify that your tire might be at risk for a blow out! If you see a bulge or blister on one of your car tires, be sure to get it checked out at our Orlando service center!
Warning Sign #3: Irregular loss of tire pressure – Tires deflating at a rate of one pound per square inch every month can be normal. But if you experience more PSI loss than that, you’ll need to get your tires checked for a leak. You wouldn’t want to get a flat on the highway!
These, along with other warning signs could mean that your car tires are at their breaking point and need to be replaced soon.
