When you’re shopping for a new car – especially a new Toyota – one of the things you’ll have to consider is AWD vs 4WD – all-wheel drive vs four-wheel drive. But what’s the different between these two features, and why do they matter to you? Toyota of Orlando is “Making It Simple™” and breaking it down for you.

Both of these systems are designed to give you better traction and control when you’re out on the road, but they’re built perform in different ways and they’re also for different types of driving. Whether you’re tackling snowy roads or taking things off the pavement to explore the great outdoors, these systems can work in your favor for better handling, control, and peace of mind.

Let’s break it all down – here’s your guide to AWD vs 4WD!

AWD vs 4WD

What is an AWD System (All-Wheel Drive)?

If your Orlando Toyota has an AWD system, it means that the drivetrain is able to power all four wheels at the same time. Typically, a car will either use the front wheels (front-wheel drive) or rear wheels (rear-wheel drive) to power itself. AWD allows power to be sent to all four wheels.

AWD systems are always on and active, and are designed to automatically adjust how much power goes to each wheel, depending on the road conditions and the traction that’s needed.

The Key Features of AWD Vehicles:

  • It’s automatically engaged. You don’t need to push a button or turn a knob to activate AWD. It’s always working in the background, and will detect any slippage in your wheels and send power to where it’s needed for better traction.
  • It’s perfect for slippery road conditions. Rain and snow can make roads slippery, and loose gravel is never easy to drive on. If you have an Orlando Toyota with all-wheel drive, then you’ve got enhanced grip, better handling, and confidence that traction is on your side.
  • It’s becoming more common. Did you know that Toyota of Orlando options like the Toyota RAV4, Camry, Prius, Highlander, Crown Signia, and more all offer all-wheel drive options? This system is becoming more and more popular and accessible, which means you’re ready for anything all year long.

Why is the Center Differential Important in AWD vs 4WD?

The reason your AWD system can operate so smoothly and seamlessly is because of the center differential on your Orlando Toyota. This mechanism allows the front and rear axles of your vehicle to rotate at different speeds, which is what lets you turn corners! Without this component, your wheels would bind up and damage your ride.

What is a 4WD System (Four-Wheel Drive)?

On the other hand, a 4WD system in your Orlando Toyota is designed for getting off the pavement – it’s best for off-roading and extreme terrains. When it comes to AWD vs 4WD, there’s a noticeable difference – 4WD has to be manually turned on. In most Toyotas, 4WD needs to be switched on with a lever, knob, or button. Your vehicle will default to 2WD otherwise.

The Key Features of 4WD Vehicles:

  • You can more control. You decide when to turn on the 4WD system, and you’ll typically only use it on off-road trails and adventures.
  • It’s ready for anything. 4WD systems are built to handle snow, mud, sand, rocks – you name it, and you’ll have max traction and power to all four wheels waiting to get you where you need to go.
  • Usually in trucks and SUVs. You won’t find 4WD in typical Toyotas like the Camry or RAV4. It’s primarily found in trucks like the Tacoma and Tundra, and off-roading SUVs like the Land Cruiser, 4Runner, and Sequoia.

Understanding the 4WD System in Detail

When it comes to system design in the AWD vs 4WD debate, there’s another stark difference. While AWD vehicles have a center differential, 4WD vehicles have a transfer case. The transfer case splits power between the front and rear axles. Further, some 4WD vehicles offer low-range gearing, which means you’ll get extra torque at low speeds. This feature is perfect for crawling your Orlando Toyota up rocks or towing heavy loads uphill.

Because there’s no center differential in 4WD systems, they’re not the best for use on pavement. Using 4WD when you’re driving on paved roads can lead to drivetrain issues and excessive wear on your Orlando Toyota.

AWD vs 4WD: A Side-by-Side Comparison

Let’s take a closer look at THE AWD vs 4WD comparison.

all-wheel drive vs four-wheel driveWhat Kind of Driving Do You Do?

Now that you understand the differences in AWD vs 4WD, let’s discuss which is going to be better for your new Orlando Toyota. The right system depends on where you live, your lifestyle, and the type of driving you do the most. Here’s what you should know.

Choose an AWD system if:

  • You live in an area that gets regular rain or light snow – AWD will give you better traction.
  • You primarily drive on paved roads but want extra confidence in poor weather.
  • You don’t want to think about engaging or disengaging a system; you want it to automatically turn on when it’s needed, and then turn itself back off.
  • You want a car-like driving experience with better grip and safety on slippery surfaces.

AWD SUV

Choose a 4WD system if:

  • You frequently drive on dirt, gravel, or unpaved roads – if trail-riding is you thing, our Toyota of Orlando team recommends 4WD to get you where you need to go.
  • You love off-roading, camping, or exploring backcountry trails. If you like to get into the unknown, 4WD is a must for safety and efficiency.
  • You live in an area with heavy snow or steep, slippery roads. Having 4WD in these situations can save you a lot of stress.
  • You need a rugged vehicle for work, towing, or extreme conditions.

What exactly is Toyota TRD? Plenty of people have seen the badging on vehicles when they’re out and about on the roads and realize that it’s something out of the ordinary, but most people aren’t familiar with TRD beyond that. We’re here to break the brand down for you so you have a better understanding of what this facet of Toyota has to offer you and your drive time and you’re ready next time you shop at Toyota of Orlando.

Orlando Toyota TRD

What does TRD stand for?

TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development. This facet of the Toyota brand was developed for racing, but since vehicles intended for racing share so many characteristics with those built for off-roading, it naturally evolved into what it is now – a type of vehicle that’s perfect for tackling different terrain because of its special suspension. Additionally, there are three grades of TRD packages – Sport, Off-Road, and Pro. The higher you go (with Pro being the highest), the more off-road-ready you are.

What do these special Orlando Toyota TRD packages have to offer?

What does each grade or TRD package have to offer? Here’s the breakdown from our Orlando Toyota dealership.

Sport: This TRD package focuses mostly on appearance – making your Toyota truck look a whole lot sportier without really changing much of the performance or engineering. It includes features like a non-functional hood scoop, fog lights, 17″ alloy wheels, TRD graphics inside and out, and a sport-tuned suspension. You can find it most often on the Toyota Tacoma but it’s sometimes up for grabs on the Sequoia and Tundra.

Off-Road: The Off-Road TRD package is most often available on the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Sequoia; however, it was most recently added to the Toyota RAV4.  It includes features that make your vehicle look different AND enhance its off-roading capabilities. You’ll be able to take things up a notch with a special off-road tuned suspension system, multi-terrain select, CRAWL control, electronically-locking rear differential, and Bilstein shocks. On top of that, the appearance is upgraded with wide-angle fog lights, 16″ alloy wheels, special Off-Road graphics, and an inclinometer with roll/pitch displays. Additionally, this package allows for a greater approach angle – 32 degrees instead of 29 degrees.

Pro: The Pro TRD package is the top dog when it comes to all things TRD. Not only does it include premium off-roading features, it also adds convenience and comfort features that you’d typically find in a high-end model. It includes elements like a power moonroof, a black leather interior with leather shift knob, Pro graphics, a heritage-inspired “Toyota” front grille, and 16″ black alloy wheels. Additionally, it ups your performance capabilities by adding features like TRD Pro Cat-back exhaust, Fox Internal Bypass coil-over springs and rear remote reservoir shocks, a thicker front skid plate, an a suspension system with a 1″ lift. Additionally, the approach angle has been increased to 35 degrees and you’ll even find features like dual-zone automatic climate control and a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert thrown in. This TRD package is typically available on the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Sequoia, and Toyota Tundra models.

However, did you know that you can also find TRD packages on other Toyotas that aren’t designed to enhance performance for off-roading? The new Toyota Camry offers a TRD package that takes it up a notch in terms of appearance. People often ask if there’s a TRD Corolla, too – unfortunately, the answer is not right now (as much as we’d love it). They’re in their right to wonder, though. Back in 2000, there actually was a TRD Corolla. It was extremely rare (if you ask most Toyota people about it, they’ll say they’ve never heard of it) and is a road-going version of the AE101 Corolla that raced in the Japanese Touring Car Championship. Obviously, this TRD Corolla isn’t in the lineup today. However, if you really need to get your hands on something similar, the new GR Corolla is headed our way and offers a super-sporty, track-ready performance that you’d find in the TRD Corolla of days past.

So, which one suits you and your drive time needs best? We’ve got good news – you can test drive any and all of them today at Toyota of Orlando. Just give us a call at (407) 298-4500 to schedule your appointment today!

spring clean

When most people think about detailing the exterior of their car, they focus on getting the paint looking like-new and the windows smudge-free. But there’s one part of your car that often gets overlooked: the wheels. If you’ve ever wondered why your freshly washed ride still looks a little “meh,” chances are your wheels are the culprit. But don’t worry – cleaning your wheels isn’t rocket science. In fact, it’s one of the most satisfying parts of detailing your car. Toyota of Orlando is “Making It Simple™”! Check out our step-by-step guide on how to clean car wheels and the products you should shop.

Why Should You Know How to Clean Car Wheels?

Your car wheels are like your ride’s shoes – they’re hit the hardest with road dirt, brake dust, and general grime. It’s important to routinely clean them, and here’s why:

Your wheels are like the shoes of your car—they take the brunt of the road’s dirt, grime, and brake dust. Here’s why you shouldn’t skip them:

  • Brake Dust: Brake dust can build up as you use your car. Every time you brake, tiny metal particles from your brake pads stick to your wheels. If you don’t clean your car wheels, the brake dust can corrode the finish and eventually damage your wheel (not a cheap repair).
  • Safety: Excessive grime and dirt can hide cracks and other damage on your wheels. This can cause problems down the road – you need to be able to see any damage to address it.
  • Resale value: Regularly cleaning your car wheels prevents corrosion, staining, and other damage. This helps keep your car’s value high for when you’re ready to sell.
  • Curb appeal: Dirty wheels make your car look dated, old, and low-quality. Learn how to clean car wheels to keep your car looking fresh and new.

What Supplies Do You Need for Cleaning Car Wheels?

Before you get started, you should shop for supplies at our Orlando Toyota parts store. Here’s what you’ll need for proper cleaning:

  • Wheel Cleaner: Choose a product designed for your type of wheels (alloy, chrome, painted, etc.). If you’re not sure which is right, ask the parts counter at Toyota of Orlando to help.
  • Wheel Brush: You’ll need a soft-bristled brush to get into tight spots without scratching your wheels.
  • Microfiber Towels: You’ll need these for drying and buffing, just like your car paint.
  • Bucket of Water: These are for rinsing your brush and wheels.
  • Hose or Pressure Washer: You’ll need this to rinse off dirt and cleaner.

And it never hurts to have tire cleaner and tire shine for that finishing touch.

Toyota of Orlando tips

Step-by-Step: How to Clean Car Wheels

1. Start with the wheels.

When detailing the exterior of your Orlando Toyota, start with the wheels before washing the rest of the car. Your wheels are likely the dirtiest part, and you don’t want to splash grime on your clean paint. Here’s a word to the wise, too – don’t use harsh household cleaners or degreasers. This can actually do more harm than good and damage your wheels.

2. Rinse them thoroughly.

Use a hose or pressure washer to blast away loose dirt and brake dust. This step will help prevent scratching when you start scrubbing your wheels.

3. Use the wheel cleaner.

Spray wheel cleaner generously all over the wheel. This means the face, the spokes, and the lug nuts. Follow the instructions on the bottle, which generally advise you to leave the spray to sit for a few minutes. Don’t let it dry, though!

4. Scrub with a wheel brush.

Dip your wheel brush into a bucket of clean water and then scrub, focusing on:

  • The face of the wheel
  • Between the spokes
  • Around the lug nuts
  • The inner barrel (as far as you can reach)

If your wheels are excessively dirty, repeat this step.

5. Rinse again.

Rinse your wheels thoroughly – remove all the cleaner and loosened dirt and grime. Make sure your wheels are sparkling – dirt residue left on the wheel can attract more dirt.

6. Dry with a microfiber towel.

Prevent water spots by drying your car wheels. Use a clean, dry microfiber towel and then throw it in the washer – don’t use the same towel on your car paint.

7.  Shine the tires.

Want your tires to pop and look like new? Spray on a tire shine product to make them look straight out of the showroom.

How to Keep Your Car Wheels in Top Shape

Now you know how to clean your car wheels – let’s talk about how to keep them in the best shape possible. Here are our Orlando Toyota tips:

  • Clean your wheels everytime you detail your car’s exterior.
  • Always let your wheels cool down after driving before cleaning them. Cleaning hot wheels can cause the cleaner to dry more quickly and cause damage.
  • Use separate towels and sponges for wheels and paint to avoid scratches.
  • Protect your wheels in between detailing with a wheel sealant or wax. This will help repel brake dust and make cleaning easier in the future.

2025 Toyota for sale

Shopping for a new Toyota comes with lots of choices, especially when it comes to your car’s interior. If you’re trying to choose between SofTex® and leather seats, Toyota of Orlando is here to break down the differences and help you pick the best option for your lifestyle. We’re “Making It Simple™!”

What Exactly Is SofTex?

SofTex is a high-quality synthetic material designed to look and feel like leather, minus the animal products. It’s a popular choice for drivers who want that sleek, upscale vibe without traditional leather, and SofTex seats offer some unique advantages when compared to the real thing.

SofTex seats

What About Leather?

Leather seats are made from genuine animal hide and have long been appreciated for their premium appearance, smooth feel, and durability. They’re known for resisting stains and odors, making them a favorite for drivers who want both form and function.

SofTex seats vs. Leather seats: Key Differences for Your Next Toyota

Let’s take a closer look at how these materials stack up in a few important categories:

How They Handle Florida Heat (and Cold)

Leather Seats:

Leather tends to absorb UV rays, so it can get quite hot in the summer – something to keep in mind in Florida’s climate. In the winter, it also holds onto the cold, which might make seat warmers a must-have.

SofTex Seats:

SofTex features a UV-reflective coating that helps it resist heat buildup, so your seats stay cooler in the sun. If a consistent and comfortable temperature is important to you, SofTex might be the way to go.

SofTex seats in Tacoma

Maintenance and Upkeep

Leather Seats:

Leather needs regular care, including cleaning and conditioning, to prevent wear and cracking over time. If left untreated, leather can dry out, especially when exposed to heat and sunlight.

SofTex Seats:

SofTex is known for being easy to clean – just a little soap and water usually does the trick. It’s more resistant to dirt and spills and doesn’t require conditioning, making it a convenient, low-maintenance choice.

Price Comparison

Leather Seats:

Because of the complex process required to treat and prepare real leather, these seats typically come at a higher price point.

SofTex Seats:

SofTex falls somewhere in the middle – more affordable than leather, but a bit more premium than fabric. It’s a great value if you’re looking for something upscale without going all-in on cost.

Look and Feel

Leather Seats:

There’s no denying leather offers a luxurious look and a firmer, more cushioned feel that many drivers love. It delivers both style and substance.

SofTex Seats:

SofTex is softer and more lightweight than leather, and while it mimics leather’s appearance, it also offers a more delicate finish. Plus, since it’s synthetic, it comes in a wide variety of colors—perfect for customizing your ride’s interior.

2025 Toyota Corolla

If you’re shopping for a compact sedan, you certainly have a lot of options to choose from. Two of the most popular sedans on the market right now are definitely the 2025 Toyota Corolla and 2025 Honda Civic – both are reliable, efficient, and offer the value you’re looking for when you buy a new car. However, this can make it challenging to decide between the two. Let’s dive into the details of the 2025 Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla to see which one is best for you – our vote is the Toyota Corolla, but we’ve got receipts to prove why. We’re “Making It Simple™” and breaking it down by fuel efficiency, style, interior cabin features, tech, safety, reliability, and value as a whole.

Toyota Corolla vs Honda Civic

Fuel Efficiency in the Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla

Let’s talk about fuel efficiency – with gas prices the way they are, we know this is usually a top factor for car shoppers. Both the Orlando Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic offer exceptional fuel efficiency, but the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid definitely pulls ahead if you want to get as many MPGs as possible. Here’s a breakdown of the different models:

  • Toyota Corolla (Gas): Up to 32 city / 41 highway / 35 combined mpg
  • Toyota Corolla Hybrid: Up to 53 city / 46 highway / 50 combined mpg
  • Honda Civic (Gas): 32 city / 41 highway / 36 combined mpg
  • Honda Civic Hybrid: 50 city / 47 highway / 49 combined mpg

Looking at it from a bird’s eye view, these two sedans are neck and neck. However, the Orlando Toyota Corolla Hybrid outpaces the Honda Civic hybrid in both city and combined MPGs. On top of that, the Corolla also offers more hybrid model options to choose from, and some of them offer all-wheel drive (not something you’ll find on the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrids). If you want to save money at the pump and have options at your fingertips, you should shop with us at Toyota of Orlando.

Style: How Do These Sedans Stack Up?

We know that style is subjective, but we think that when it comes to the Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla, this Orlando sedan is the clear winner. Here are some of the highlights we love in the 2025 Toyota Corolla this year:

  • It has a bold front grille and sleek LED headlights to turn heads
  • It’s also rocking sporty alloy wheels and a rear spoiler option
  • The special new FX Edition pulls in edgy black accents and a special rear spoiler you won’t find on other models
  • You’ll also have tons of paint colors, including two-toned options available

The new Honda Civic, on the other hand, isn’t quite as much of a standout. It’s clean and sophisticated, creating an overall mature look, but doesn’t have the same personality and curb appeal as the 2025 Toyota Corolla. Plus, if you opt for this Orlando Toyota you’re going to get unique Nightshade and FX editions for variety and uniqueness.

Comparing the Cabins: Interior Features & Comfort

How do the cabins pan out when it comes to the 2025 Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla? Well, this Orlando Toyota is all about comfort and convenience. The cabin is designed with high-quality materials, soft-touch surfaces, and you’ll be able to choose between premium fabric and leather-trimmed seats. You can get up to a 10.5-inch touchscreen for your audio system, and the interior is spacious and comfortable with plenty of legroom no matter where you’re sitting. You’ll also love standard features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, and a convenient Smart Key System.

The Honda Civic also has an interior worth talking about – it’s well-designed with a minimalist dashboard and easy-to-access storage. You’ll get a standard 7-inch touchscreen interface for your audio system (you’ll have to buy a more expensive trim to go bigger), as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a spacious trunk (the Honda offers about two more cubic feet of space in the trunk). However, if you want the best tech and comfort features in the Honda Civic, you’re going to have to shell out more money for a higher hybrid trim.

Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla

Technology in the 2025 Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla

Let’s talk tech – what do you get in the Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla? The basic 2025 Toyota Corolla has tons of tech – you’ll get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch to 10.5-inch touchscreen, and the option to upgrade to a premium JBL audio system. You’ll also find Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as a standard feature in this Orlando Toyota so you’ll have access to features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking, and more. Further, the 2025 Toyota Corolla offers safety tech like:

  • Whiplash Injury Lessening Seats: Standard on Corolla, not offered on Civic
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: Corolla performs better in IIHS pedestrian avoidance tests, especially at night
  • Secondary Collision Brake: Standard on Corolla, not available on Civic-helps prevent further collisions after an initial impact
  • Safety Connect: Corolla offers a GPS-based emergency response system; the Civic does not

What about the Civic? It matches a lot of the features listed above, but some of them – like the larger touchscreen or advanced audio – are limited to the more expensive hybrid trims and you won’t have the options if you want a gas car. Both cars offer digital instrument displays, but the Corolla’s infotainment system is generally larger and more intuitive at a lower price point.

On top of that, in NHTSA crash tests the Corolla scores 5 stars overall, while the Civic gets 4 stars. That’s a significant difference if safety is a top concern.

Reliability: Who Wins in the Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla?

What about reliability? We all know that Toyota is a top choice if you want a reliable ride, and the 2025 Toyota Corolla is the poster child for “set it and forget it” ownership. The Corolla’s hybrid battery warranty is especially generous: 10 years/150,000 miles, compared to the Civic Hybrid’s 8 years/100,000 miles. Toyota also includes two years or 25,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance, which the Civic does not match. As far as ownership costs, you’re paying less with the Orlando Toyota Corolla.

Honda Civics are also known for reliability, but Toyota’s “bulletproof” track record and longer hybrid warranty give the Corolla the edge when you’re shopping these two cars.

Value Comparisons for Honda vs Toyota

When it comes to value, the Orlando Toyota Corolla is hard to beat:

  • Starting Price: Corolla LE starts at around $22,175, while the Civic LX starts higher, at about $25,400
  • Standard Features: Corolla includes more tech and safety features at lower trims
  • Maintenance: ToyotaCare covers routine maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, plus two years of roadside assistance
  • Hybrid Options: You’ll have more trims and the availability of all-wheel drive in the Corolla Hybrid.
  • Resale Value: Corollas tend to hold their value exceptionally well, thanks to Toyota’s reputation for reliability and low ownership costs

Why the Orlando Toyota Corolla Is the Better Buy

To sum it up, here’s why you should go with Toyota in the Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla comparison.

  • Better fuel efficiency, especially in hybrid form, and available AWD for added versatility
  • More standard safety features and higher crash-test ratings, plus unique safety tech like whiplash protection and post-collision braking
  • Lower starting price and more standard features, making it a better value from the base trim up
  • Longer hybrid battery warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance for peace of mind
  • Toyota’s unmatched reliability and strong resale value

While the new Honda Civic is a fantastic car, the Orlando Toyota Corolla’s combination of value, safety, reliability, and lower ownership costs makes it the smarter choice for most buyers. If you want a hassle-free, efficient, and safe compact sedan that’s easy on your wallet both now and in the long run, the 2025 Toyota Corolla is the way to go. Don’t take our word for it – schedule your test drive at Toyota of Orlando. We’re just off I-4 near the Mall at Millenia and open until 10 pm every night!

Our Top Road Trip Tips for Travelling with Littles

Tip #1: Put safety first.

You always say it to your kids, and it should be your tagline when taking a family vacation – safety first. Here are some safety road trip tips to keep in mind before you head out.

  • Have a safety kit in the car. Put together a road trip safety kit with elements like a first aid kit, flashlights, jumper cables, a small toolkit, flat tire tools, and anything else you might need to deal with a roadside emergency.
  • Check your car seats and booster seats before you go. Make sure everything is buckled in tightly and that the seat doesn’t move more than an inch from side-to-side and front-to-back when you try to wiggle it.
  • Activate child safety locks for the doors and windows before you leave Orlando.
  • Make sure the adults have a plan if you face a roadside emergency, and how you’ll put it into motion. This helps everyone feel prepped and secure.
  • Put any medication you might need in an easy-to-access place should you need to get it out during your drive.

Tip #2: Make comfort a priority.

If you’re going to be in your Orlando Toyota for a while to get to your destination, put comfort at the top of your to-do list – remember, happy kids mean happy parents. We recommend road trip tips like:

  • Pack pillows, blankets, and favorite stuffed animals for napping.
  • Bring snacks and drinks. You’ll want everyone to stay full and hydrated, but make sure to choose easy-to-clean snacks (nothing with too many crumbs and nothing sticky) and snacks that aren’t a major choking hazard. We recommend water in the car in case of spills, and a spill-proof water bottle is a must-have.
  • Use seat organizers to get your backseat ready for a road trip out of Orlando. Be sure to pack wipes for cleanups, any supplies you need (like diapers and spare clothes), and have a trash bin or bag on hand to immediately dispose of trash and cut down on mess and clutter in the back.
  • In the front, make sure you have the necessities for road trips with kids – more wipes, hand sanitizer, charging cords, and tissues.
  • Keep everything within easy reach of kids or parents – snacks, drinks, toys, books, and anything else you might need during your trip.

Tip #3: Keep everyone entertained.

“Are we there yet?” Is a pretty common refrain on a road trip out of Orlando, and one that can get old quickly. Avoid it with these Toyota of Orlando road trip tips:

  • If your kids are tablet kids, be sure to download plenty of shows, movies, games, and books for them before you head out (and don’t forget the headphones to save your sanity).
  • Stock the backseat with car-friendly toys and games, as well as coloring supplies. We recommend games like bingo (and you can’t leave out I Spy) to keep kids engaged and distracted.
  • Download family-friendly audiobooks and podcasts for everyone to enjoy together as the miles stretch on.
  • Encourage your kids to navigate with you – teach them how to follow the route on a map or app and have them keep you updated on ETA or upcoming turns or exits. (Bonus: they won’t ask if you’re there yet.)

Tip #4: Make efficiency a cornerstone of your trip.

If you plan ahead of time, your trip will be much more efficient, and that means less stress, less money spent, and more time enjoying your actual vacation. Here are some Toyota of Orlando road trip tips for efficiency.

  • Plan your route BEFORE you go and have an idea of when you’ll stop for rest breaks or to stretch your legs. Make sure you leave extra time for spontaneous stops or unaccounted-for delays. If you’re stopping for lunch, look for stops that have picnic tables or benches where you can eat (and a playground to burn off some energy never hurt anyone).
  • Before you leave Orlando, check a real-time navigation app for any traffic or delays and adjust your route accordingly.
  • If you’re stopping overnight, be sure to book your hotel ahead of time – you don’t want to end up not being able to get a room. You should also pack a “hotel bag” that’s easy to grab, so you don’t have to bring all your luggage in. Pack necessities like pajamas, a set of clean clothes, toiletries, and any medications you need.
  • Get caught up on routine maintenance before you go. Schedule a visit at the Toyota of Orlando service center and let our techs do a multi-point inspection of your car. They can point out and fix any issues and ensure your ride is ready to hit the highway without issue.

most reliable trucks

When you shop for a new car, you probably have a list of must-have qualities that you’re using to guide your decision. One factor that’s usually at the top of the list for people is reliability: whether you’re buying new or used, you want a car that you can count on for years to come. That’s why we vote you shop Toyota – we know we’re biased, but at the same time, the ranking speak for themselves. J.D. Power just published their Most Reliable Cars and Brands study for 2025, and Toyota of Orlando is bringing you the data you need to find the perfect (reliable) new ride. Here are the most reliable cars of 2025!

What Makes the Most Reliable Cars?

What criteria does J.D. Power use to cultivate their list of the most reliable cars and brands of 2025? Here are some of the things this automotive giant looks at:

  • Three-year ownership: This portion of the study looks at the reliability of vehicles after three years of ownership to get a better idea of how they’re performing.
  • Problems per 100 vehicles (PP100): This part of the study measures the number of problems reported by owners per 100 vehicles.

J.D. Power also ranks the most reliable cars by looking at nine specific categories and the problems experienced and reported in them, including:

  • Driving assistance
  • Climate
  • Driving experience
  • Exterior
  • Features/controls/displays
  • Infotainment
  • Interior
  • Powertrain
  • Seats

Basically, the fewer problems a vehicle has, the higher its reliability score will be.

What Makes Toyotas So Reliable?

What makes our Orlando Toyota lineup so reliable that you can count on it to get you where you need to go for decades? Here are some of the factors that make it one of the best buys on the market.

  • Toyota uses a unique manufacturing process called the Toyota Production System (TPS). This system is based on 13 different pillars, including teamwork, learning from mistakes, and incorporating human intelligence into automated processes for the highest quality outcome. TPS focuses on staff engagement and direct problem-solving.
  • Toyota focuses on Kaizen as one of its core pillars – this is the dedication to change for the better. Toyota is constantly improving its product, its technology, and its processes for continuous forward movement.
  • The company also focuses on total quality management. They’re proactive about finding and addressing issues in manufacturing. Further, their product testing is rigorous – we’re talking x-rays, ultrasound, heat and cold stress testing, and simulation testing.
  • You may not know this, but Toyota manufactures more than half of its inventory right here in the United States. This helps keep costs down on the product.
