Meet the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser: The icon is back
It’s back – the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has officially been unveiled and is headed to a dealership near you next spring. Our Orlando Toyota dealership has the details on what this reimagined fan favorite will offer when it arrives… let’s dive in.
Before we get deep into the details of what the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is bringing to the table, let’s start with the basics. Remember – the last time we saw this SUV was back in 2021. In its last iteration, it was a full-sized luxury SUV that also had off-roading capabilities woven into its sophisticated design. This made it expensive ($80k+), and it was also sporting a 5.7L V8 engine under the hood that was great for power but dismal in terms of fuel efficiency. Here are the most notable changes headed our way.
- The newest model is focused on its off-roading heritage instead of luxury.
- You can still count on a high-quality Orlando Toyota, but the 2024 model will be toned down in terms of luxury features and have a starting MSRP in the mid $50,000 range.
- Gone is the V8 engine, replaced with an i-FORCE MAX turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.
What’s new on the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser?
You’ve got the general idea – now let’s dig into the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser a little bit more. Here’s what you should know before it arrives at Toyota of Orlando.
- The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser sits on the global TNGA-F body-on-frame platform, which is great for off-roading. It has more rigidity in the chassis with new high-strength steel.
- This new iteration of the classic SUV is 4.4 inches narrower and 1.2 inches shorter than its predecessor.
- There are three models headed to Toyota of Orlando – the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Land Cruiser 1958, and the Toyota Land Cruiser First Edition.
- The new turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid system gets 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This is more horsepower and torque than the previous V8 engine, and you’ll get better fuel efficiency as well.
- All 2024 Toyota Land Cruisers are equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system with a center locking differential and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high/low range.
- They’ll also have vehicle stability control and automatic limited-slip differential. Electronic locking rear differential is also standard on all models for superior control on rough terrain.
- An all-new front stabilizer bar disconnect is standard on Land Cruiser and First Edition grades and increases flex at the push of a button.
- The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has an approach angle of up to 31.0 degrees and a max departure of 22.0 degrees while the breakover angle reaches 25.0 degrees, and ground clearance is up to 8.7 inches.
- You’ll also find multi-terrain select, CRAWL control, downhill assist control, and a multi-terrain monitor. Additionally, front tow/recovery hooks come standard.
- This new Orlando Toyota can tow up to 6,000 lbs.
Plus, if you want to take your off-roading game to the next level you can add accessories like rock rails, skid plates, and more through the new AAP program – you can choose from more than 100 accessories for off-roading, overlanding, and performance.
Climb behind the wheel of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser
What about looks? The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is a far cry from the last model (the 200 Series). Here are some of the things we love about this all-new model:
A smaller interior – gone are the 8 seats, replaced by a spacious and ergonomic five-seater interior. It’s also updated with a new moonroof
Updated cabin technology. You’ll find the latest Audio Multimedia System with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as connected services and over-the-air updates. You’ll also have access to a 12.3-inch multimedia monitor, a digital rearview mirror, and a 14-speaker premium JBL sound system. Plus, no matter where adventure takes you you’ll have 4G connectivity for up to five devices.
A sleek but functional look. Each model has a different interior, and you’ll find options ranging from fabric to SofTex to leather-trimmed seats in multiple colors. Cool heritage badging, unique round headlights, and new paint colors round out the package. You can choose from hues like Wind Chill Pearl, Trail Dust, and Heritage Blue, just to name a few.
A sporty exterior. The new exterior of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is still stylish, but in a whole new way. It’s boxier and edgier and showcases features like RIGID lighting, 18″ alloy wheels, running boards, roof racks, mudflaps, rock rails, and more.
New safety tech. You’ll find the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system standard on ALL 2024 Toyota Land Cruisers, as well as a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and hill start assist control.
You don’t have to sacrifice comfort, either. The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will come with options like power-heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display, Qi charging, and more.
