2024 Toyota Tacoma vs Nissan Frontier: The basics

We’re comparing the 2024 Toyota Tacoma vs Nissan Frontier from the 2023 model year. The Frontier was completely redesigned in 2022 and likely won’t have many differences in the 2024 model year, and as we’re sure you’re aware, the 2024 Tacoma is all-new from bumper to bumper. Let’s take a closer look at how these two fan favorites compare, starting with the basics.

Price

We can’t give you a true comparison on price because the official MSRP of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma hasn’t been released officially yet. However, we’re willing to bet it’ll start under $30,000 and go up from there. The Nissan Frontier has a slightly higher starting MSRP with its base trim kicking off at $30,705.

Cabs + Trim Levels

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma will offer two cab sizes – Double (4-door) and the new Xtra (2-door). Drivers will be able to choose from eight trim levels – SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and the incredible new Trailhunter.

The 2023 Nissan Frontier also has two cabs – King Cab (2-door) and Crew Cab (4-door). It offers four trim levels – S, SV, PRO-X, and PRO-4X.

Here are a few other points to consider about the configurations when it comes to the 2024 Tacoma vs Nissan Frontier:

  • Both trucks offer 5-foot and 6-foot bed options.
  • Both trucks also offer 2WD and 4WD options.
  • Both trucks can seat up to five inside the cab.

We don’t have fuel efficiency info for the 2024 Tacoma yet, but we’re willing to bet it’s improved from the last model year thanks to the new hybrid drivetrain that’s available. The Nissan Frontier gets 21 mpg combined.
