We’re throwing shade over at Toyota of Orlando━Nightshade that is. The time has come for the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Corolla Hatchback lineup to introduce the special Nightshade Edition for the 2020 model year. With a grand total of six vehicle options, already including the 4Runner, Camry, Sienna, and Highlander, darkness has taken hold of the Toyota family. Popular Orlando Toyota Sedan Goes Dark They say it’s all in the details. Already a great option on our lot with its sleek interior, bold exterior, and new grade strategy, the 2020 Toyota Corolla sedan will now offer the same modern look, now in Nightshade. Production will be kicking off this fall on this all-new special edition. Blacked-out accents will now be an available option when purchasing the SE grade. This sleek Nightshade Edition of the 2020 Toyota will include features like blacked-out badging, door handles, and window trim. The grille will be trimmed with black, as well as the side heated power mirrors, side rocker panels, and 18” alloy wheels. In the back, the sedan will also be expected to include a black spoiler and low diffuser area. To round it all out, the roof will be adorned with a black shark fin antenna that will act as the cherry on top of this jaw-dropping edition. The available colors of this popular sedan will include super white, classic silver metallic, and black sand pearl. This limited edition offer will be expected to have an MSRP of $22,750. Toyota Corolla Hatchback gets the Nightshade Treatment Last year, the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback made its grand debut as a sporty new addition to the family. It rocked our dealership from the start with its option for a fun Blue Flame exterior and 18” alloy wheels. Now the hatchback will also come in the Nightshade Edition for an even more modern look. Similarly to the sedan, the Nightshade package will soon be available on the hatchback SE grade. This special edition of the hatchback will include multiple blacked-out features. With its exterior door handles, capped side mirrors, and brand badging all darkened, the hatchback is set to look sleeker than ever. This edition will also offer black rockers surrounding the lower perimeter of the vehicle, as well as dark 18” alloy wheels, fabric interior, and inner headlamp frames. The blackened shark fin antenna and two factory spoilers will round out this sporty package. The Nightshade Edition of the sporty hatchback will be expected to have an MSRP of $22,290. The Toyota FT-4X This new Toyota crossover has four doors AND four-wheel drive, making it a versatile option for drivers from all walks of life. It's utilitarian with a high degree of adaptability and off-road-friendly features like low range and four-wheel drive, as well as cool add-ons like a multi-hatch that opens in two different directions and a "wet zone" where you can store muddy boots and damp wetsuits. Honestly, out of all the concepts, we think this one is the coolest and would love to see it at Toyota of Orlando eventually. A redesigned Toyota 86 Toyota has been talking a lot about a "performance trio", with the all-new Toyota Supra and the Toyota 86 being the first two members. However, before they introduce the third, they want to amp up the existing Toyota 86 with a new platform and possible engineering upgrades. Hurricane season is in full swing! It looks like Tropical Storm Dorian might take a swing at us (although you never know, it could go wide and leave us with a nice, dry Labor Day Weekend). Either way, we do live in the Sunshine State, which means we're prone to hurricanes every year from May 1 - November 30. We figured now was a good a time as any to brush up on hurricane safety - particularly, evacuating. There's nothing worse than sitting at a gas station with 5 people ahead of you while the storm clouds build in the distance. And the lines only get worse as the storm gets closer - gas up now so you don't have to worry about it before you get out town. That way you can stop once you're clear of the hurricane's path and top off the tank in your Orlando Toyota. Tip #2: Know what to pack. What should you take when you evacuate a hurricane? Are you a fan of the Toyota FJ Cruiser? This much-loved Orlando Toyota SUV had quite the run - it was introduced into the market back in 2003 and was a popular option until it was discontinued by Toyota in 2014. Off-roaders and commuters alike loved it for its versatility, its reliable and durable performance, and its unique style (it was a throwback to the original FJ40). If you miss this fan favorite, then you're in luck... it's rumored that a new model that's similar MAY be coming to fruition in Japan in the year 2020! What is the Toyota TJ Cruiser? Back in 2017, the Toyota TJ Cruiser was teased as a concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show. As we all know, concepts sometimes lead to nothing - sometimes, they're just cool ideas but never make it onto the production line. Not with the Toyota TJ Cruiser. This part-SUV, part-minivan solution is supposedly hitting the market overseas in 2020, and Toyota of Orlando has the scoop on what it'll offer when it arrives. The exterior of the new Toyota TJ Cruiser is boxy but slightly reminiscent of the beloved Toyota FJ Cruiser. The interior seats 4, with a fold-down rear seat AND passenger seat so you can easily maximize your cargo space. However, some rumors indicate that a third-row bench seat will be an option. While the two front doors open regularly, the two back doors are sliding (like the Orlando Toyota Sienna). What about performance? So far, we know that the engine compartment opens in the opposite direction of all other Toyotas (kind of like a semi-truck). However, instead of having a V6 engine like the FJ, the new Toyota TJ Cruiser will offer a hybrid power train (similar to what the Toyota Prius brings to the table). A 1.8L powertrain and 2.0L 4-cylinder engine will likely be under the hood, which means this futuristic model will offer incredible fuel efficiency. When will it actually arrive in Japan, though? According to a recently published article from a Japanese vehicle journalism site, Toyota has made the decision to unveil the production model (not the concent model) at the Tokyo Motor Show this October, and then roll it out of production in December for it to be sold in 2020. We don't know that this car will ever make it to the US, but it WILL be built on the TNGA platform, which many production Toyotas are being built on. While some drivers may think that all they have to do while driving in a school zone is slow down for a minute or two, there's actually a good deal more to it than that. You want your tires to offer you the best traction possible when driving in the rain, so you should regularly inspect them to ensure they're able to do it. To offer proper traction in wet weather your tires need to be in good physical condition (without damage like bubbles, blisters, sidewall separation, or punctures) and should be inflated to the proper PSI, which you can find in your owner's manual.
