We're eagerly - some might even say anxiously - awaiting the unveiling and arrival of the 2022 Toyota Tundra. However, Toyota has been keeping this new truck under pretty tight wraps until the big day. They did, however, just release another teaser, and this one revolves around the new engine that will purportedly be under the hood of the 2022 model when it arrives at a Toyota dealership near you. We're taking a closer look (we gotta stay busy while we wait, right?). What type of engine will the new 2022 Toyota Tundra have under the hood? The latest 2022 Toyota Tundra teaser shows a quick look at the new engine, which has been dubbed the iForce Max. Now, if you recall, the engine that's currently under the hood of this Orlando Toyota truck is called the iForce V8. It's a 5.7L V8 engine that churns out 381 horsepower for some serious get up and go. The new engine, however, has notedly dropped any sort of number in its name and is just going by "Max" (which doesn't give us much to go on, but here we are). So what will it be? Here's what we think. There's faux manifold decoration on the engine cover and three intake runners on each side. This leads us to believe that it's likely going to be some sort of V6 engine, which we knew was coming as Toyota steadily phases out its V8 options. There are really two possibilities here: A new twin-turbocharged V6 gas engine. This is a strong possibility because this is the type of engine that's debuting in the new Toyota Land Cruiser, which you can only buy overseas after 2021 (sorry). This could be Toyota's chance to bring it stateside. A naturally-aspirated V6 engine. Either way, we think that there's a big chance that this new model of the Orlando Toyota Tundra will have a hybrid drivetrain. Things are getting greener every day in the automotive industry and Toyota has vowed to increase its electrified options for US drivers. It only seems fitting that the newest model of this popular truck would be available in a hybrid version, especially given the introduction of the Ford F-150 hybrid model. We'd be excited if this were the case. There are tons of perks to hybrid drivetrains, the main two being much better fuel efficiency and a cleaner performance (fewer emissions). We all know that trucks - even Toyota trucks - can be gas guzzlers because of their large size and large engines. Swapping out the drivetrain would ensure better fuel efficiency and less money spent at the pump to travel the same distances, which brings ownership costs down. And it wouldn't affect performance capabilities (in terms of towing, speed, etc.) if done right (and you know Toyota's got it covered). This week the anticipated change of the next generation multimedia system for Orlando Toyotas has been announced. In the works since 2018, we can expect the previous multimedia system to get an extreme upgrade. Toyota brought together all different teams to create the best new system, from electrical engineering to software development and business planning. Toyota created a system that blended previously scattered features into one advanced function making the user experience better than it’s ever been. Developed in North America, the unveiling of this new multimedia solution delivers an in-car user experience like never before being offered across our Orlando Toyota vehicle line-up – regardless of screen size or model grade. You can expect these features: Human Machine Interface (HMI), Virtual Assistant (VA), Enhanced Navigation, User Profiles, Digital Key, Over the Air (OTA), Safety Connect, and Service Connect. Let’s get into the features. Larger screen option A larger screen will visually change appearance in your Orlando Toyota from only an 8-inch screen to up to 14 inches, with processing power five times higher, making it faster and more responsive. Human Machine Interface (HMI) This feature remarkably enhanced user interaction through sight, touch, and voice due to its graphical user interface (GUI) design which features a voice interface and a uniquely North American animation. One can expect this to deliver a unified experience that does such with ease and the benefit of balancing accessibility needs. As a result, VA aims to provide a natural and easy-to-use interaction for vehicle occupants. Dual-microphones Enhanced noise-cancellation Speaker location and seat detection capabilities The approach allows front-seat occupants an expanded and interactive functionality to access navigation, media, phone, and select vehicle settings Enhanced Navigation This updated navigation system allows drivers and passengers to use the voice-activated commands or touchscreen to search at their fingertips for directions, exploring local businesses, using Google points of interest (POI) data. This navigation is also available to passengers with or without a network connection, with offline mode designed to detect when the vehicle is near or entering an area with low connectivity and download applicable maps and services in advance. User Profiles Set your personalized profile across all vehicles through the new profile system stored in the cloud. It is portable from vehicle to vehicle with access to Bluetooth handheld devices such as smartphones or tablets, smart keys, or manual login to access their profile. Digital Key Download the Toyota or Lexus app to avoid the frustrations that come with locking your keys in your car. Owners will be able to lock/unlock and start/stop their vehicle motor with digital access, with sharing capabilities of up to seven different guest users at one time. Over the Air (OTA) These cloud-based upgrades enable in-vehicle software in real-time by adopting agile development processes and Over the Air (OTA) program updates. Safety Connect Drivers and passengers will be connected to a 24/7 emergency response agent immediately who can quickly request dispatch of emergency services to a vehicle’s exact location or assist authorities in locating a stolen vehicle. Service Connect This subscription-based option will allow owners to maintain their vehicle through the smartphone App, receiving personalized maintenance updates, vehicle health reports, and maintenance reminders. Toyota develops method to stop catalytic converter theft Did you know that as a Prius owner, you have a higher chance of having your catalytic converter stolen right off of your car? Weird but true. Thefts of this car part have been on the rise over the past few years because hybrid car catalytic converters have more precious metals (palladium, rhodium, and platinum, to be exact) inside of them than other vehicles. This makes them more valuable to steal, dismantle, and sell. However, Toyota is taking steps to stop the theft - they've created a way to covertly mark the catalytic converters so they can be tracked after they're stolen. The markers will be police-approved and 50,000 of them will roll out initially; all owners have to do is contact their local dealership to have one fitted on their car. New 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser spotted New spy photos of the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser - without camo on - have been leaked, and things are looking good. We can't show it here (sorry, but we'll be sure to let you know when the OFFICIAL photos drop), but it's looking like this new Toyota SUV is sleeker than ever for its big debut. It's reminiscent of a Lexus LX with lean lines, sleek curves, and a powerful presence if that gives you any idea (or you can just Google it). Toyota predicts 70% of sales to be electric by 2030 Big news for green drivers - Toyota is predicting that by 2030, 70% of all of their sales will be electrified with a majority of that number being hybrids. While gasoline models will still be available, they're hoping to make their way toward carbon neutrality by the end of this decade and electric cars, hydrogen cars, and hybrid cars are the way to get there. Toyota has officially partnered with ENEOS, a Japanese petroleum company, to build a hydrogen fuel system that will power the city as cleanly as possible. ENEOS is well-versed in this realm - it currently runs 45 hydrogen fueling stations throughout Japan to support hydrogen fuel cell vehicles like the Toyota Mirai. Check out the latest headlines and call us with any questions you may have (or to set up your test drive). Toyota patents new twin-turbo V8 engine This one is still kind of up in the air. After all, Toyota has largely removed the V8 engine from its lineup and replaced it with more fuel-efficient options, especially in the wake of how popular hybrid and electric cars are becoming. However, last Thursday it was revealed that they just filed a patent for a new twin-turbo V8 engine. The application details a new engine with two turbochargers (also known as superchargers) that are placed on the top of the engine block. This could mean that Toyota is planning a "hot v" engine, one that has very little lag and is actually more efficient for it. It's also going to be more compact, which means it can fit in more passenger cars. We'll keep you posted! New Toyota hydrogen engine in the works Toyota's latest endeavor in the world of green cars is a new internal combustion engine that actually uses hydrogen as fuel. This results in a car that feels and sounds like a traditional gasoline-powered car but one that emits far fewer emissions into the air and is significantly more efficient. Toyota has placed this innovative engine in a Toyota Corolla Hatchback and will be entering said vehicle into the 2021 Super Taikyu 24 Hour Endurance Series from May 21 to 23, 2021 to see how it fares when it comes to the track. Is an electric Toyota Land Cruiser coming? The Orlando Toyota Land Cruiser will officially be retired after this year, but that doesn't mean it's fading from existence - after all, it's an icon of the brand. It's going to be available in other parts of the world and rumor has it that there's a chance it could be all-electric in the coming years. Toyota recently entered into a partnership with BHP, an Australian mining company, and retrofitted a Toyota Land Cruiser with a battery-electric powertrain to see how it fared and whether or not it should be pushed into the consumer market and so far, so good. New Toyota electrified SUVs to be produced in Indiana We mentioned earlier this month that two new Toyota electrified models were headed our way in the upcoming year - two new SUVs, to be exact. However, we weren't given any specifics on what TYPE of vehicles they would be (hybrids, plug-ins, all-electric, etc.). More news has been tacked onto this initial story; Toyota announced that it's investing $803 million into the Indiana plant and adding 1,400 new jobs in order to produce the aforementioned SUVs right here in the states. Two new SUVs coming: Big news for all your SUV drivers - two new models will be hitting the market before you know it. Rumor has it that Toyota will be retiring the Toyota Sequoia (similarly to how it put the Toyota Land Cruiser out to pasture this year) and introducing two new 8-seater, 3-row SUVs designed for Millenial families that are always on the go. One will be badged as a Lexus, but both will likely be fuel-efficient hybrids and include cool and convenient features like hands-free driving systems and a remote parking feature. Additionally, both will be built right here in the US at the Indiana plant. Spy photos of the new Toyota Land Cruiser emerge: The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series may have been retired in the US, but an all-new 300 series is coming to the rest of the world. Spy shots have been taken and reveal that the new interaction of this much-loved classic will a longer and wider front bumper, a rear end that looks similar to the popular Prado model, and a completely redesigned interior cabin that focuses on easy access to infotainment and the instrument cluster. We'll keep you posted as new photos and more information are dropped. Toyota to race combustible hydrogen car: When it comes to going green, Toyota is definitely a front-runner. And now they're taking their technology to the track - reportedly, they'll be racing in the 4-hour Super Taikyu race in Fuji in a vehicle powered by combustible hydrogen. It sounds weird - how do you combust hydrogen like you do gas? We're no engineers, but it is possible and can lend a lot of speed to your car. However, it cuts way back on your fuel efficiency and also emits nitrous oxide, which is a greenhouse gas that hydrogen cars try to cut out of the equation, so we don't see this technology coming to a dealership near you anytime soon. Toyota Sienna Woodland introduced: The Toyota Sienna has always been cooler than the average minivan (hence the Swagger Wagon moniker). However, it's taking cool to an all-new level with a new special edition model that's coming to market in the fall. The Toyota Sienna Woodland special edition comes with standard all-wheel drive and more ground clearance for a more versatile performance. Additionally, it'll still pack a hybrid drivetrain and offer features like 18" wheels, roof racks with crossbars, a 1,500 watt outlet, and two cool new paint colors. Big news in the world of green cars - Toyota has officially introduced an all-new electric car concept and it's slated to begin production in Japan and China in the coming year, and *fingers crossed* be up for sale on a worldwide scale by the middle to end of 2022. Meet the all-new Toyota bz4X SUV; Toyota of Orlando has the details! See what the new Toyota bz4X SUV has to offer Toyota has always been committed to clean, green performance. After all, they were the frontrunners for hybrid cars with the introduction of the Toyota Prius back in the early 2000s; they also have introduced numerous other green options to the market, including electric and fuel cell vehicles. Their goal is to expand their lineup to include more than 70 electrified vehicle options (on a global basis) by the end of 2025 and have carbon neutrality by 2050. (This basically means that the amount of carbon emitted in vehicle emissions is balanced with the absorption of carbon from the atmosphere.) Introducing the Toyota bz4X SUV. This new Toyota was developed in a joint endeavor with Subaru (much like the Toyota GR 86) and will be produced under the new Toyota bZ umbrella - bZ stands for beyond zero, as this lineup will include a series of battery-electric vehicles. Even more exciting news has been announced, too - Toyota will be adding trucks to the new lineup of electrified vehicles with both hybrid and BEV options up for grabs. The Toyota bz4X SUV was built on the e-TNGA BEV-dedicated platform. It has a long wheelbase with short overhangs and has a style that's pretty distinctive; it reminds us of an Orlando Toyota RAV4 mixed with a Toyota C-HR with its sharp, diamond-inspired styling. It's featuring a spacious interior with a comfortable, open-concept design; for example, the instrument panel is set low over the steering wheel for better visibility and handling. Ok, ok - before you get all excited about our headline, we want to clarify. The Orlando Toyota Land Cruiser is still discontinued after the 2021 model year... in America. In other parts of the world, the new 300 Series model will be introduced to the market. And rumor has it that with this new 300 Series Land Cruiser comes a special edition model - a Gazoo Racing model that's tuned and outfitted with everything you need to get off the pavement. What could this new Toyota SUV have to offer? But wait - isn't the Orlando Toyota Land Cruiser already off-road-ready? It is, very much so, but this new GR model will up the ante when it comes to tackling tough terrain and exploring the unknown. We've got the details - check it out. Supposedly, the new Toyota Land Cruiser will drop its V8 engine (which it's had for years and years) and replace it with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine. It's estimated that this new engine could churn out an impressive 420 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque (it's the same engine that's in the current Lexus LS500). However, the engine could also be a diesel 3.3L turbo V6 that offers 309 horsepower and 507 lb-ft of torque. It's rumored that both options will be available in the Gazoo Racing model, but the diesel engine will only offer room for five passengers while the twin-turbo will offer room for seven. This off-road-ready model will also include front and rear locking differential as well as a Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, so you have automatic adjustment and deactivation of the sway bars. This allows for more precise handling when you're off the pavement, but less body roll when you're on the road. The wheels will also be smaller - 18" versus the prior 20" size. It's finally here - the 2022 Toyota GR 86 has officially been unveiled. It's set to arrive at dealerships across the nation late this year, but our Orlando Toyota dealership has the scoop NOW on what it's going to offer when you can finally slide into the driver's seat. If you noticed, the name is slightly different. Toyota added "GR" to this sports car's moniker, which stands for Gazoo Racing (and it's obvious that this car will be track-ready). However, that's not all that's changed. This Orlando Toyota was completely redesigned for its second generation. Much like the first gen, it was co-designed and developed with Subaru (check out the BRZ - twinsies) and the two automotive powerhouses didn't disappoint when it comes to design, performance, and technology. Here are the basics of what the all-new Toyota GR 86 will offer. A larger engine - the original has been replaced with a 2.4L flat-four. This means increased horsepower (232 hp) and torque (184 lb-ft) for a more exciting performance. (The old model got 205 hp and 156 lb-ft). It's still rear-wheel drive for quick acceleration and is available in both six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions. It gets from 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds, an improvement from the 7.4 seconds that the prior generation boasted. Dimensions will stay generally the same; the new 2022 Toyota GR 86 will showcase the same low stance that it achieves through its flat-four engine. The wheelbase is slightly longer and the center of gravity is a little lower. The roof and fender panels are now made of aluminum for lower overall weight (and more speed). Torsion rigidity has been increased by about 50%, according to Toyota - this means enhanced handling as well as a more comfortable experience for the driver and passengers. The interior will showcase a 7" digital display in the instrument cluster, as well as an 8" touchscreen interface for the entertainment system.
