The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has been revealed and the automotive world can't get enough of it. Not only is it sporting a new look and new technology inside the cabin, but it's also rocking all-new features when it comes to performance. Today we're hinging on one of the major talking points: the 2024 Tacoma engine. more Which 2024 Tacoma engines are available to you? When you shop for the newest generation of the Orlando Toyota Tacoma, you'll have two engine options available to you. Here's the breakdown: A 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder. This 2024 Tacoma engine offers 228 horsepower and 243 lb-ft torque on the SR model, and those numbers increase to 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft torque on all other models. This is because the other models pair this particular engine with an 8-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission with intelligence. There's more good news, too - you can still get a six-speed manual transmission with automatic rev matching and anti-stall technology. The manual transmission gets 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque. An i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. This is the most powerful powertrain available on the Tacoma to date. It has a 2.4L engine with a 48-hp electric motor, as well as an 8-speed transmission. This combination results in a 2024 Tacoma engine that produces 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft torque. You'll be able to get it on the TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter models. This 2024 Tacoma engine doubles the torque output of the 2023 Tacoma V6 engine and can ascend an 8% interstate grade without needing to downshift. What is the 2024 Tacoma 0-60 mph time? However, we can tell you from experience that the i-FORCE MAX engine under the hood will make it an impressive number. Remember, you're going to have 465 lb-ft torque to work with. The more torque a car has, the faster it gets from 0-60. We'll give you an example - the 2023 Toyota Tundra has a 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6 engine under the hood. (It's a different engine that what'll be in the Tacoma but you get the idea). Despite the size and weight of the truck, this Tundra manages to get from 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds. We're thinking similar (if not faster) figures will apply to the 2024 Tacoma 0-60 time. What are the 2024 Tacoma MPG estimates? No info on this one yet, either. (We know, we know.) However, we're looking at it the same way that we looked at the new Toyota Tundra. The old V8 engine in the Tundra got dismal fuel efficiency, and introducing the i-FORCE MAX engine bumped it up to 20/24 mpg. Not insanely efficient like a Toyota Prius, but still an improvement. The current V6 option in the Toyota Tacoma gets 18/22 mpg. We think that pushing a new i-FORCE MAX engine into the bay will bump up fuel efficiency further when it comes to 2024 Tacoma MPG estimates, giving you a nice blend of fuel economy and power. ARB also helped Toyota develop the Trailhunter even further by integrating a steel rear bumper, robust rear recovery points, and a bed utility bar with removable MOLLE panels into the design. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter comes in 5- or 6-foot bed configurations, and there's also an ARB bed rack to support a rooftop tent or canopy. It has 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires that jack it up an additional two inches in the front and one and a half inches in the rear. There's a standard high-clearance trail exhaust tip as well as a low-profile high-mount Trailhunter Air Intake. The air intake is routed up the passenger-side A-pillar to push cleaner air to the i-FORCE MAX engine. If you've been paying any attention at all, you saw that the 2024 Toyota Tacoma has been completely redesigned. We're talking bumper to bumper, inside and out. Taco enthusiasts are thrilled, and the unveiling of this redesigned truck has sent the internet swirling into speculation about the new 2024 Toyota 4Runner. The Toyota 4Runner is an absolute icon in the off-roading world - it's durable, capable, rugged, and yet still a comfortable and connected truck that allows for comfortable real-world driving, too. It's due for a redesign - there's no denying that. The fifth and most recent generation has been rocking since 2009. It's time, and we think Toyota knows it too. Here's our 2024 Toyota 4Runner preview Here's what we know about the 2024 Toyota 4Runner so far: We don't have an actual release date. We were thinking 2024, but here's the thing - ANOTHER part of the internet is vehement that Toyota is going to bring back the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser sometime next year. We know nothing about that but if it's true, it could push the 2024 Toyota 4Runner preview back further. Production could shift to North America. Typically, the 4Runner is produced in Japan. However, we see Toyota shifting production to North America more and more, so it's not out of the question to think that they might shift the Toyota 4Runner production here, too. It may have a different engine. Right now, this Orlando Toyota has a 4.0L V6 engine. However, we're consistently seeing Toyota downsize its engines (the Toyota Tundra and Toyota Sequoia went from V8s to V6s, for example). We could see the new iteration of this Orlando Toyota shifting to a new 4-cylinder with turbocharged capabilities - specifically, the turbocharged 2.4L inline-four that's in the new Lexus NX 350. It gets 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft torque. We could also see it offering a new hybrid drivetrain. We think the Hybrid Max powertrain in the current Toyota Crown is a strong contender - a 2.4L hybrid system that produces 340 horsepower and 400 lb-ft torque. It'll definitely have an updated design inside and out - we're thinking a brand-new look that's similar to the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma, as well as an interior that's more ergonomic, has modern styling, and has new technology. The MSRP will likely see a slight bump, but we're willing to bet it'll be worth it for all the upgraded tech + performance features. We don't think an EV is in the works. We haven't seen any full EV versions of the Tacoma, Tundra, or Sequoia, so we're doubtful one will appear in the redesign of the 2024 Toyota 4Runner. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is coming - its official unveiling will take place on May 19 (at 1:30 am, if you're a night owl). There's been a ton of speculation surrounding this new Toyota truck because it's FINALLY getting a redesign. Toyota hasn't unleashed all the details just yet, but we have gotten our hands on a few. Here's everything we know so far about the 2024 Toyota Tacoma! What's been released about the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so far It's getting a full redesign. And it's well-deserved - the last time the Orlando Toyota Tacoma was redesigned was way back in 2015. The fourth generation makes its big debut on May 19 and should be in a dealership near you later this year or early next year. We don't have an official release date yet. Looking at the teaser photos Toyota has provided, it seems like the 2024 Toyota Tacoma will take stylistic cues from the Toyota Tundra and Toyota Sequoia. Both of these new trucks were redesigned for a more angular and modern look on the exterior, and we think the new Tacoma will follow suit. It's going to have an i-Force Max option. This popular hybrid system is found in both the new Toyota Tundra and Sequoia, and offers increased horsepower and performance while improving fuel efficiency at the same time. We're also thinking a new engine is in the works for the gas models - the Tundra and Sequoia both got turbocharged engines with their redesign, and we think the new Tacoma will follow suit. There are going to be multiple cab + bed options. Toyota released a series of silhouette teaser photos indicating that there will likely be both crew and extended cabs, as well as a long bed option for this Orlando Toyota. It's getting a new body-on-frame platform - the TNGA-F platform that's newly designed by Toyota. This means better off-road performance and handling, as well as more capable towing and a cheaper manufacturing process (which rolls into a lower price for consumers). You'll have a six-speed manual transmission option still, so you can stop worrying about it. (A lot of Taco enthusiasts were terrified that a new generation would include Toyota dropping the manual option). Toyota released teaser photos of the gas, brake, and clutch pedals a few weeks ago. A new Trailhunter special edition model is getting added to the lineup. We're expecting it to be perfect for off-roading and overlapping. From the teaser shots, it looks like there are ARB add-ons and tow hooks... and that's just what we see in a quarter shot. It looks like the audio system will get a major upgrade. We're expecting a bigger touchscreen (the current one is 8") and the new wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Toyota Connected Services to be woven into the mix. Additionally, a JBL option is likely to be up for grabs - Toyota put out a teaser that the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma will have the option of a JBL Flex speaker that can be removed from the truck and used as a portable speaker on the go.
