Toyota Supra

More Toyota Supra details unveiled!

We've been waiting for the new Toyota Supra for what feels like ages - ever since this ultra-popular sports car was retired in 2002, people have been clamoring to get it back on the road. Toyota listened, and an updated model has been in the works for a few years. A new prototype and brand-new information were just released and Toyota of Orlando is here with the details. What will the new Toyota Supra have to offer? As noted, this is just a prototype - it's not what's going to be hitting dealership lots when the Toyota Supra is up for grabs. However, there most likely will be similarities in the street-ready model, which is why we're so excited to share the info that was recently revealed. The 2019 Toyota Supra will strut its stuff on the race track on February 16, 2019. That's when it'll be debuted at the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This souped-up ride will be sporting an inline-six front-mounted engine... and rumor has it that the engine will be a turbocharged 3.0 liter for some serious get-up-and-go. With an engine like that under the hood, you know you're in for some serious horsepower - 335, to be exact. On top of that you'll find 369 lb-ft of torque at your fingertips. All of that power means the new Toyota Supra prototype can easily get from 0-60mph in just four and a half-seconds. However, there may be a more manageable option for drivers who don't want QUITE that much get-up-and-go for a normal ride. Toyota is toying with the idea of an entry-level model that offers a still-promising 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with 248 horsepower available. Toyota of Orlando tips

Busted: 5 used car myths

Shopping for a preowned car and unsure as to what's fact and what's fiction? Toyota of Orlando is here to bust used car myths and help you see the light! Myth #1: Used cars aren't a reliable investment. False. Used cars are absolutely a reliable investment as long as you do your homework and shop wisely! This means checking the vehicle history report (which we offer free with every used vehicle at Toyota of Orlando) and also taking a test drive. Plus, do some homework before you shop to examine different makes and models. Which ones are renowned for longevity and reliable performance? Which ones have lots of recalls? And don't forget to consider Toyota Certified used options, which undergo stringent inspections and also come with exceptional warranties. Myth #2: You don't need to take a test drive. False! You definitely need to take a test drive. This is your chance to check out the car in person, look for any damages, listen for odd sounds, and pinpoint any weird smells. Plus, it's your opportunity to make sure the car suits you in every manner of the word. How does it handle? Is it comfortable? Can you reach everything from the driver's seat? Is the interior spacious enough? If you don't get behind the wheel before you buy, you may not like what you find when you finally do after your purchase. Myth #3: You can bring the car back in three days if it doesn't suit you. False. This is a pretty common myth, believe it or not, and with most dealers, it's a no-go - they have a final sale policy. Make sure you ask before you sign the dotted line if this is a piece of the deal that you just can't do without. Myth #4: You don't need warranties on a used car. False! It's always a good idea to have warranties on your vehicle whether it's new or used. We offer pretty great ones here at Toyota of Orlando, especially when it comes to our Toyota Certified used options. They all come with 12,000 mile/12-month bumper-to-bumper warranties as well as 100,000 mile/7-year powertrain warranties. Why not give yourself extra peace of mind by tacking on a helpful warranty with your purchase? Just be sure you carefully consider all aspects of the warranty before you decide which one is best for you. Myth #5: You should sell your old car privately to get more money. False. Yes, sometimes you can get more money, especially if you find a private seller who wants some specific aspect of your car and is willing to shell out for it. However, in some instances you may be able to get more from a trade in AND have less of a headache to deal with - they can handle the title and tag transfer and all the paperwork. It's worth getting a cash offer from Toyota of Orlando before you start looking for private buyers! Ready to shop, or want to get a cash offer on your old car? Call us today! We're open seven days a week until 10 pm.

Toyota to build autonomous vehicle testing facility

The race is on when it comes to autonomous vehicles - it seems that every car maker is working on some sort of technology to get their driverless cars out on the road. However, as seen in recent news, it's not always safe to test this technology out on the road. That's why Toyota has announced that it's going to be building a new testing facility for this very purpose. Toyota of Orlando has the details about this up-and-coming project and the technology that will be tested there. New autonomous vehicle testing facility coming to Michigan First, let's talk about this incredible new facility. Toyota was doing autonomous testing on public roads, but recently halted the program due to safety concerns about testing in real-time scenarios. The facility is going to be located in Michigan (where a lot of the research and safety facilities are already located) and will span 60 acres, giving Toyota plenty of space to test out new technology in their autonomous vehicles. Specifically, it'll be built in the Michigan Technical Resource Park in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. This facility has an existing 1.75 mile loop in it, but Toyota is taking things to the next level when it comes to testing and needs more space. They'll be able to test a lot of different scenarios multiple times to see how they need to hone their technology to respond. 60 acres may sound like a lot, but it'll ensure that Toyota has the space they need to replicate real-life scenarios with cars and pedestrians to ensure their autonomous vehicles react as needed. The facility will include scenarios like crowded city streets, divided highways, slippery roads, snow, fog, tight corners, and more to give the vehicles plenty of different drive time situations to contend with. The site will officially open in October and we predict that a lot of automakers will be following in Toyota's footsteps - there's been a lot of discussion about whether it's safe to test on public roads in real-time situations. Toyota has been working on autonomous vehicles for years; in fact, they just partnered with Denso and Aisin (heavy hitters in the world of technology and automotive research) to fine-tune this technology and get it ready for consumers. They invested $2.8 billion into their research, and our Orlando Toyota dealership is excited about the results we'll undoubtedly see over the next few years. Explore all the Orlando Toyota technology up for grabs now Autonomous vehicles aren't up for grabs anywhere in the US, but we do have some other pretty cool technology for you to explore when you visit our Orlando Toyota dealership. Here are some features we love in our current cars: Bird's Eye View Camera with 360-degree views around your car Integrated navigation with turn-by-turn instructions Qi wireless charging for all of your devices Parking assist for tight and parallel spots Toyota Safety Sense P with a pre-collision system and pedestrian detection Come test it all out in person! We're just off I-4 near the Millenia Mall at 3575 Vineland Road, and we're open seven days a week for your convenience.

2018 Toyota 86

What will the next generation of the Toyota 86 have to offer?

If you're a sports car fan with a not-so-sports-car budget, then chances are you've taken a peek at the Orlando Toyota 86. This sporty and performance-driven coupe boasts quite the drive time but has an affordable price tag attached to it so it's accessible to drivers from all walks of life. It's got a pretty solid following, and rumor has it that the next generation of this vehicle - slated to drop in 2020 or 2021 - will have some big changes in store. We're here to speculate what the next gen of the Toyota 86 could have to offer! What could the new Toyota 86 have in store for us? Here are some of the rumors and speculation we've seen so far: The new generation will be on lots in 2020 or 2021 The current 2.0L 4-cylinder engine will be kicked to the curb in favor of a 2.4L option We don't know what the specific engine will be, but since Toyota paired up with Subaru to design the Toyota 86, we've seen speculation that the Subaru 2.4L turbo engine could be used. This would offer 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, a big upgrade from the current specs. The car will boast a design less like its current model (with fluid lines on the exterior) and more like the popular Toyota C-HR crossover (a diamond-inspired design with sharp lines, pronounced edges, and a more aggressive overall look). The car will sit lower to the ground to make it appear more muscular, but also to increase handling and maneuverability for drivers. Overall, the design is speculated to be completely different than the current model. The Toyota 86 is also rumored to be getting major upgrades when it comes to safety technology - mostly, features found in the advanced Toyota Safety Sense systems. Get behind the wheel of this Orlando Toyota today That's all we've seen so far - 2020 is still a while away and even if the new generation did make it to Toyota of Orlando that year, we still wouldn't see an unveiling most likely until 2019. However, if you can't wait to get your hands on this affordable sports car in the meantime, come on down and see us! We've got plenty in stock, and here are some of the highlights of the current model you don't want to miss: A starting price point of $26,255 Both manual and automatic transmission options 21/28 mpg when it comes to fuel efficiency An array of eye-catching paint colors like Raven, Ablaze, Thunder, and Halo Steering wheel mounted paddle shifters on the automatic model Front-wheel drive and rear differential Three trim-levels, the 86, 86 GT, and 86 GT Black A sleek, dark interior with Granluxe suede-like materials and contrasting stitching A 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen interface for the audio system as well as features like navigation and Bluetooth wireless streaming Seating for four with a folding rear seat to make more cargo space Ready to take your test drive and see if this new Toyota coupe is as track-worthy as it seems? V2V technology

Toyota to introduce V2V and V2I communications in their vehicles

Ever wished your car had a way to give you a heads up when heavy traffic is in your path? What about a warning that you're about to hit a bad pothole? It would be nice if there was a way for our cars to anticipate possible hazards and problems and let us know, especially from other vehicles. Thanks to Toyota, it's a pretty big possibility in the near future. Get the scoop on V2V and V2I The automotive giant has been working with V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) communications in their cars. What does this mean for us, as drivers? Here are some of the highlights our Orlando Toyota dealership has been able to get our hands on: V2V and V2I work through dedicated short-range communication systems that operate on the 5.9-gigahertz spectrum. This is the spectrum devoted to intelligent transportation systems. What does that mean? Basically, you won't have to use cellular data or any other data subscriptions to get the systems up and running in your ride. Toyota is planning on implementing this technology in 2021 in both Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The goal of these systems is to cut down on traffic (and subsequently reduce emissions), prevent accidents, and lead the way to self-driving cars down the road. Vehicles can communicate with one another AND the infrastructure to warn each other of road hazards. This means you'll know ahead of time if you're about to encounter bad weather, potholes, accidents, road construction, traffic, and more. This will also allow your adaptive cruise control system to work much more efficiently in your Orlando Toyota. Cruise control (which means less braking and accelerating) cuts down on emissions and smog, and can even help you save on fuel. These warnings will help you find another route via V2I - the infrastructure will reroute you to a more efficient and safer route to your final destination. Toyota's overall goal? To create a safer mobile society for both drivers AND pedestrians. Our Orlando Toyota cars offer top tech Like we said, we'll have to wait until 2021 or so to see this technology make its way into vehicles. However, we've got some pretty amazing tech in our Orlando Toyota cars already.
