The legendary Toyota Supra is one step closer to being back on the market. At this year’s Geneva Motor Show Toyota revealed the GR Supra Racing Concept and attendees weren’t able to contain their excitement. With insane features you would only find in a racecar the plans for the future Supra guarantee it will be nothing short of a good time. With a reveal as thrilling as this one, our Orlando dealership had to give you the details! The Toyota Supra made a name for itself back in 1979. Being a spin-off of the already-popular Toyota Celica, Toyota had no doubt it was going to be a hit, but what they didn’t expect was for it to create its own cult following. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, this two-door coupe was stealing the hearts of car fanatics everywhere! However, Toyota Supra production ceased shortly after. It's a concept right now, but the CEO of Toyota - Akio Toyoda - said that he has future plans to make it into a limited-edition production model for enthusiasts. Toyota Gazoo Racing developed the car - they're the independent company inside of Toyota Motor Corp. that manages the high-end performance vehicles and parts as well as the racing. The Toyota GR Super Sport has a twin-turbo 2.4L V6 hybrid powertrain that puts out 986 horsepower. It uses the same chassis as the Le Mans LMP1. Gazoo Racing's president said that it's not a race car, but "the starting point for Toyota's completely new challenge to develop sports cars from active race cars". It's a series of the original Toyota Land Cruiser, which was built for rugged terrain and handling all the elements. It was launched in 1960, and was a two-door SUV that could have its top and two doors removed for an open-air experience; it also had two jump-seats in the rear and is still a major fan favorite when it comes to restoration today. Toyota MR2: The Toyota MR2 - specifically, the MR2 Spyder - was a mid-engine rear-wheel drive two-seater sports car that was exceptionally popular for its style AND performance. It was much-loved because of its seamless blend of sports car performance and economical efficiency, and boasted a light curb weight, transverse-mounted inline-four engine, and fully independent MacPherson strut front and rear suspensions.
