New Year, New You, New Car? Signs You Need A New Toyota in 2022

When you get your first car, it's a pivotal moment in your life. Everyone can think of the time they got their first car. It's a great feeling knowing that it's yours and you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. In addition, owning a car opens up the gates to many new opportunities: going to meet-ups with your friends, to holiday dinners with your family, to the beach for a day of fun. However, there does come a time when the same car isn't working as well as it used to, and although it's served you well for many years, it's costing you a fortune to keep up. So let's talk about the 4 signs you need a new Orlando Toyota car in 2022. #1 It's costing you more than it's worth. You constantly have to take your older car in to be serviced, and it's costing you your time and money. So then, it's safe to say that it might be time to consider buying a new Orlando Toyota. It's great for vehicles to be scheduled for services routinely to maintain their good condition. However, if it's breaking down more than twice a year, it might be time to call it quits. Especially if you need to have significant repairs like replacing radiators, exhaust systems and fixing major engine malfunctions, it might cost you less in the long run to buy a new car. #2 It doesn't match your lifestyle anymore. There are different Orlando Toyotas for different lifestyles, and maybe you've realized that your sedan isn't going to be realistic for a growing family, or perhaps you need more durability to haul work equipment. Whatever the case is, stepping into a new stage of your life might mean adjusting the things you have to fit into it! #3 You feel unsafe in the car. It doesn't feel safe thinking that your car might break down at any point and could be very dangerous if you are on the highway. If you have an old car, your vehicle might not have the most advanced safety features. Our Orlando Toyotas have Toyota Safety Sense that comes with a Pre-Collision System with Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beams. If you constantly feel unsafe in your car, upgrading with better safety features might be better. #4 You refuel more frequently than you should. If you find yourself stopping at the gas station more than twice a week, this might be because your car has poor fuel efficiency. The latest vehicles come with better fuel efficiency and even electric models. For example, the 2022 Toyota Prius gets up to 58 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway, so good! You might end up saving more money buying a new Orlando Toyota! Want to schedule a test drive with a Toyota? Visit our dealership! We're open seven days a week at 3575 Vineland Road. Toyota officially dethrones GM

2021 was a year to remember (for a lot of reasons, some good, some bad, some just totally weird). For Toyota, it's a year to remember for the good things. Although there were massive semi-conductor chip shortages, COVID-related shutdowns in factories and plants, and less inventory than usual, it still managed to come out on top in a big way. Drumroll, please: for the first time in 90 years straight, GM has been knocked out of the top-selling automaker spot by none other than Toyota. That's right - Toyota was officially the top-selling automaker in America in 2021. Toyota knocks GM out of top-selling automaker spot This is a big deal not only because it's a huge accomplishment, but also because GM has held firm to spot numero uno for 90 years straight. Since 1931, it's been in first place without missing a single year... until now. Here are some of the highlights: Toyota sold 2.3 million cars in the US in 2021, up 10.4% from 2020. GM sold 2.2 million cars, down 12.9% from the prior year. Toyota increased sales of both cars and trucks last year, with the Toyota Tacoma jumping up 5.7% in sales year over year. Alternative fuel vehicle sales were at 600,000 for the year, up 73%. Overall, top-selling models included the ever-popular Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Highlander, all of which were up in sales from last year. So, why do people love Toyotas so much? We know we're biased here at Toyota of Orlando, but the facts are the facts. Here are some of the reasons people just keep coming back to the Toyota family: Variety. The Toyota lineup is impressive, spanning everything from compact and fuel-efficient hatchbacks to powerful trucks and spacious SUVS. Between the sedans, hatchbacks, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and minivans up for grabs, consumers can find what they need (and want) in the expansive inventory lineup. Reliability. Toyotas are renowned on a global level - not just a national level - for their incredible reliability. These cars last for decades and well into high-mileage and not only that, but they do it with minimal problems and repairs needed. Affordability. Not only that, when you shop for an Orlando Toyota you know you're going to find affordable options up for grabs. All of our vehicles come in multiple trim-levels and offer packages and options that allow you to stay within your budget and still find the car you need for all of your drive time needs. Safety. It's also well-known that Toyota is on top of their safety game. They have an entire facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan devoted solely to safety technology research and design, and their vehicles routinely get top IIHS safety ratings across the board. Alternative fuel options. Finally, when you shop for Toyotas, you'll have the option of getting an alternative fuel vehicle. Whether you want one for better fuel efficiency or just cleaner performance, you'll be able to choose from hybrid vehicles, fuel cell vehicles, and soon (with the introduction of the bZ4X later this year) electric vehicles. See for yourself why Toyota is #1 at Toyota of Orlando Don't take our word for it - see for yourself! Come down to Toyota of Orlando and take a test drive. Toyota celebrates 50 million Corollas sold with new manga series

The Toyota Corolla is one of the best-selling cars in the world - literally. It's renowned on a global scale for its compact style, sporty performance, fuel efficiency, safety, cutting-edge technology... we could keep going, but we're sure you get the idea. And on top of all that, an all-new Toyota Corolla Hot Hatch has been getting teased for months now and we expect to see it stateside sometime in 2022. Since its introduction to the automotive market back in the 1960s, it's been full-steam ahead for this much-loved sedan. The Toyota Corolla gets put to print That's why we weren't surprised when Toyota hit the 50 million mark in terms of cars sold. It took 55 years to achieve the goal, and they're celebrating in a big, big way - with a new original manga comic series that traces the history of the iconic Toyota Corolla. This is a first for the automaker, and they're pulling out all the stops. Here's what we know about this Orlando Toyota Corolla-themed  manga series: It's only been released in Japan (although we're sure you'll be able to work your internet magic and get a copy) and is entirely in Japanese. Additionally, it's only available online - we don't know yet if a printed copy will be released at any point. The comic traces the history of the iconic Toyota Corolla, hitting all the highlights in its illustrious life over the years. It starts in the 1960s (when the car first came out) with a father bringing how the first-generation model and taking his family out for a spin to experience it. The comic then hops to the 1970s and features a father-and-son duo having a talk while out for a drive. The 1980s portion of the series features the immensely popular AE86 Corolla, which is still a hot commodity to this day. The 1990s showcase a family taking the Toyota Corolla out for ice cream. Then, for some reason, the comic bypasses the 2000s and 2010s and hops right into the 2020s, and showcases the new top-of-the-line technology found in the Orlando Toyota Corolla. The illustrations are beautiful and also drawn in a period-correct style for each section. The stories are based on true-life experiences and photos that were submitted by actual Corolla owners. However, if you'd rather get behind the wheel than see it in a manga series, you're in luck - the 2022 Toyota Corolla is waiting for you at Toyota of Orlando. Here are some of the highlights you don't want to miss on the latest model year: Nine different models to choose from, including a hybrid model, two unique Apex Special Editions, and a new Nightshade Edition Fuel efficiency of 31/40 mpg An affordable starting MSRP of just $20,075 A spacious and sleek interior trimmed in sporty SofTex material Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and more for entertainment Remote connect capabilities Test drive this Orlando Toyota today And more. Driving in traffic on Christmas weekend: Toyota of Orlando tips

Are you hitting the road this weekend? Christmas is just a few days away, and while your commute to work this week might be easier than usual (no school, fewer people at work) things are about to pick up. Tons of people hit the road on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to visit friends and family, attend parties, get in last-minute shopping, and more. This means more traffic, a higher chance of accidents, and more stress on your plate... unless you follow these useful tips from Toyota of Orlando for driving in Christmas traffic! Five tips for driving in traffic this Christmas weekend Tip #1: Leave plenty of extra time. We all know that traffic is going to be nuts, especially on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. Make sure that wherever you're going, you leave yourself plenty of time to get there. You know you'll be driving in traffic due to more people on the road and also a much higher chance of fender benders. Give yourself cushion when it comes to time so you aren't speeding or driving aggressively to get where you're going on time. Tip #2: Make sure your ride is ready for the road. Is your Orlando Toyota ready to hit the road this weekend? If you're heading out of town to visit friends and family, you need to ensure that your car is up to date on auto services like oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, and battery service. The last thing you want to do is have a breakdown when you're trying to get to your celebration. Tip #3: Check the weather and traffic. Make sure to check the weather and traffic BEFORE you leave the house. Bad weather and heavy traffic can cause delays, so if you know about them ahead of time, you can either reroute your trip or give yourself more time to get to your destination. Plus, it'll mentally prepare you for the road conditions so you're not stressing as much about it. Tip #4: Don't let distracted driving get the best of you. It's easy to get distracted any time you're behind the wheel, but especially so on Christmas. Excited kids in the backseat, people calling and texting you, Christmas lights, finding the right Christmas music on your Spotify... we get it, but distracted driving is one of the biggest causes of accidents. Use voice-to-text to reply to messages, make a Christmas playlist before you leave the house, and keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Tip #5: If necessary, prep for winter weather. If you're heading north, make sure that both you and your car are prepped and ready for winter weather. You'll want to check your fluids, tires, heater, and defroster to ensure they're in good condition, and then mentally prepare yourself for driving on in snow and ice. Prep your car for driving in traffic at Toyota of Orlando From our family to yours, safe travels and Merry Christmas! If you need last-minute auto service to get ready for driving in traffic on the holiday, visit Toyota of Orlando today. We're open seven days a week at 3575 Vineland Road, just off I-4 near the Millenia Mall, and you can reach us at (407) 298-0001.

How to transport a Christmas tree: Toyota of Orlando tips

Christmas Eve is a week away (how did that happen so fast?). That means it's time to deck the halls - past time, really - and if you haven't already brought home a Christmas tree, now would be the time to do it. However, it's not like picking up the groceries; to get your tree home safely and in good condition, there are a few tips you should know. And luckily, your favorite Orlando Toyota dealership is here to explain them. Six tips to transport a Christmas tree Tip #1: Plan ahead. Before you go all Buddy the Elf, make sure you know how you're going to get your tree home. Do you have a truck with a bed to use, or will you attach it to the roof of your car? Planning ahead will save you time, stress, and money when it's time to transport your Christmas tree. Tip #2: Keep an eye on the weather. Make sure the weather is good when you pick a day to transport your Christmas tree. It won't hurt it to drive it through the rain, but it'll definitely leave it wet and you'll have to try and dry it out before you can bring it inside of the house. And driving a Christmas tree through high winds is never a good idea, FYI. Tip #3: Make sure the tree is somehow wrapped. Most Christmas trees will be wrapped up in netting so you can easily get it home in one piece (make sure you cut that netting up after you're done with it, too #savethewildlife). However, it's always smart to have a big blanket on hand just in case you aren't provided with netting. You can roll the tree up in the blanket to protect both the tree itself and the bed or top of your Orlando Toyota from scratches and sap. Tip #4: Use those roof racks. Do you have roof racks on your Orlando Toyota? If so, put them to use and attach your Christmas tree to them to make it simple to get home. If you don't, you're going to have to tie the tree directly to the roof of your car. Open the car doors and loop your rope or twine through that way to get a firm tie-down (and also so you don't tie the doors shut LOL). You'll want to tie down the tree at three points - the top, middle, and bottom. And make sure you have the trunk of the tree at the front of your car - this will help prevent wind damage to the tree's branches as you drive. Tip #5: If you're using the bed of a truck, secure the tree. If you're lucky enough to have a Toyota of Orlando truck at your disposal, you can simply place the tree in the bed of it. However, you should still use the tie-down points to secure it down to the bed just in case a gust of wind catches it on the way home. Tip #6: Take your time. Drive slow, especially if your Christmas tree is on the roof. Don't speed and be sure to take turns slowly and avoid slamming on the brakes. Merry Christmas from Toyota of Orlando! Questions?
