Now you know why Toyota tires are such a good investment, and why it's a great idea to visit our service center to have them serviced and replaced. But how do you know when you're due for a visit?

How do you know if you're due for tire service or replacement?

Our Orlando auto service techs can get you on a tire service schedule, and they'll send you reminders when you're due to come in for tire rotations, alignments, and wheel balancing. However, here's a quick list of signs you need to bring your car in for Toyota tire service:

  • You notice that they're underinflated. Keep a tire pressure gauge in your glovebox — if one tire looks a little low, check the PSI to see where it's at and then check your owner's manual to see where it should be.
  • You see bulges or blisters, or any other damage to the tire (like a nail or screw).
  • You see sidewall separation — where the wall of the tire is actually separating from wear and tear.
  • Your tread is low. The best way to check your tire tread is to use the penny test. Stick a penny — with Abe Lincoln's head down — into the tread of your tire. If you can see the top of his head, your tread is too low and it's time for a new set of tires.

Why is it so important to schedule Toyota tire service? Your safety and performance, mainly. Tires that are underinflated, low in tread depth, or damaged can cause major problems. They can lead to flat tires and blowouts, low fuel efficiency, loss of traction, and more. Be sure to get on a Toyota tire care schedule and stick to it, and replace your car tires when necessary.
