Explore different types of motor oil

When you get an Orlando oil change, you need to know which type of motor oil your ride needs. There are a lot of different types of motor oil available for different types of vehicles. Let's take a look at them:

Higher mileage oil

This oil is used when older vehicles with more miles on them get an oil change. It helps out the vehicles by preventing oil from leaking, which is possible with its special formula. Higher mileage oil will help you lessen the amount of times you have to replenish the oil in your vehicle. It also contains higher viscosity than other oils to allow your worn engine to give better performance!

Conventional oil

This oil is most commonly used on new cars. While this oil blend might save you a lot of money during an oil change, it needs to be changed more often. Conventional oil doesn't hold up in extreme weather conditions, so you need to keep this in mind if you plan on living in an area that gets extremely cold!

Full synthetic oil

This artificial oil was made specifically for high-tech engines. This type of motor oil gives the best performance out of all of the motor oils and leaves little deposits, if any, at all. While full synthetic oil may be more expensive than conventional oil, it last up to three times longer.

Synthetic blend oil

When you get an oil change in Orlando with this motor oil, you'll be getting a mixture of synthetic and conventional oil. While this may give you better performance than conventional motor oil, but it doesn't provide as much performance as full synthetic oil. This might be a better choice for an oil change in Orlando since it's cheaper than synthetic oil!

In addition to knowing the different types of motor oils available for an Orlando oil change, you also need to know about viscosity.

Our Toyota Service Center in Orlando helps you understand oil viscosity

When you go to the store to purchase motor oil for your vehicle for an oil change, you might notice some numbers on the label like 10W-30 or 20W-50. These numbers represent the viscosity. Viscosity is the resistance to the flow of the oil. The number situated next to the W signifies how the viscosity when the oil is cold and the other number indicates the viscosity of the oil when it's heated up.

A higher viscosity number indicates that the oil is more resistant than if the number is lower. You should never use the incorrect oil when getting an oil change in Orlando. Doing so can lead to car problems and costly auto repairs! If you need help figuring out the viscosity of the oil your vehicle, our Orlando Toyota Service Center techs will be more than happy to help you figure out the viscosity of the oil for your ride!
