Let it snow… in Orlando this weekend!
Are you dreaming of a white Christmas and realizing that living in Orlando, it’s just not going to happen? Fortunately, there are ways to get your Christmas fix here in the City Beautiful with a side of “snow“. Check out these fun, snow-filled holiday events going on now and spend your weekend getting into the holiday spirit!
30 Days of Christmas
Head to downtown Orlando – it’ll be snowing on Church Street all month long! The 30 Days of Christmas celebration has officially kicked off and will feature a holiday music and light show as well as free carriage rides if you’re making it a date night. Snowfall happens on an hourly basis starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. While you’re downtown, check out the amazing lights at Lake Eola and don’t forget to hit the holiday music and lights show at the giant Christmas tree!
Light Up UCF
Get your snow fix while checking out an amazing light show and taking advantage of all the holiday fun the University of Central Florida has to offer this season. Light Up UCF features carnival rides, movie nights, ice skating, visits from Santa, a giant Ferris Wheel, a train ride, and even an Arctic Glide Ice Slide! Live performances and a special holiday market with local vendors cap things off, and you’ll get to experience a fresh snowfall during the holiday lights show on a nightly basis.
Wekiva Island Winter Wonderland
Fun in the sun followed by a wintery wonderland of an evening? Sign us up. Head to Wekiva Island in Longwood – they’re hosting nightly flurries to get everyone into the holiday spirit. You’ll also find a snow slide, Christmas movies on select nights, activities like face painting and ornament decorating, and visits from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, and Buddy the Elf. There’s additionally live music, tons of food, and a bar where you can sip your favorite adult beverage.
Oviedo Winterfest and Snow Mountain
This Saturday, 12/14, everything at Oviedo Winterfest will be made out of snow! Your family will love holiday activities like a snow pit, a snow maze, toboggan rides, and crazy snow slides. Additionally, you can spend your day enjoying swan boat rides, a holiday train ride, a visit from Santa, and a hike up “Snow Mountain”. The snowfall starts at 2 p.m., so don’t miss out!
OH WHAT FUN! Lake Nona Holiday Festival
Open-air ice skating, carolers, visits with Santa, holiday movies… it doesn’t get much more Christmassy than the OH WHAT FUN! Lake Nona Holiday Festival! This family-friendly holiday celebration also features snow flurries, kids’ crafts, classic holiday treats, and beautiful Christmas lights to get you and your family into the holiday spirit. Don’t forget to bring your letters to Santa to drop in the special mailbox!
